Hi, my husband and I are VERY Upset. We bought a refrigerator from menards back on march 2 2021.

The employee said it would be at the store by March 10th. My husband received an email that it will NOT be here till at least March 31st. And the manager said it probably wont even be then. Im SUPER upset as our fridge is broken and we have 4 daughters and alot of food that went bad because we explained ours broke.

. They are willing to switch to stainless steel one in store but I said ok but can they help with delivery cost since there employee promised us it would be here by today!

And the General manager of Bolingbrook said no they wont. Dont promise a customer something and not follow through.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

The employees can only give you an estimated delivery date provided by the manufacturer. The manufacturers aren't very good at informing the stores when their warehouse is out of a product.

The only way a store finds out is when the truck pulls up to their dock with a packing list indicating that the refrigerator was backordered.

If time is of the essence it is best to purchase an in stock refrigerator. This is true of whatever store you buy it at.


Then the employees should not be given out false information. And when we paid for it they should have said something about the date. It is on our paperwork work the date


Demand a 100% refund for the undelivered merchandise and locate a competitor who has immediate access to what your looking for. Most competitors offer free delivery including unboxing, and verifying proper operation before leaving.

Menards charges per item and mile for delivery, charge a fee for delivering inside your house as opposed to along the street curb, charge a "step fee" if you have any staircases, and refuse to unbox or test. If the item fails to operate from day one, or shipping damage menards tells you to talk to the hand by passing the buck to the "independent contractor" or manufacturer.

Other retailers go above and beyond to help customers, menards just str0ke5 you with add on fees, and loves to blame someone else. Vote with your wallet to support businesses willing to assist the customers who provide their paychecks.


Look at exactly what your paperwork says. The special order clearly states that it is an estimated delivery date, not a guaranteed date.


over 1 month lead-time is outrageous for a retailer, demand a 100% refund and take your business elsewhere. Menards staff will play games trying to charge you a "restocking fee" for an item thats not even in stock and charge you for a delivery that never took place. Collect every penny you paid and move on to another retailer.


The paperwork you have states an estimated delivery date. Thats what the employee either said or should have stated.

I can't tell you how he phrased it.

But often times ppl hear a date and tune out the rest. But if you read the paperwork, it does state a estimated date and you sign that to understand the paperwork at the register when paying for your items
