Hello All

We put this in at our lake house up north. It’s been just shy of a year.

I don’t have any experience with other brands, but I can comment a few words of warning if you’re thinking of going this route with UltraDecking:

1.

For the 10” face plates, you will absolutely want to have a juice every 12”. If you stay at 24”, it WILL bow.

2. The “grain” will melt away if you’re getting a lot of sun. We have almost none after 1 year on the sun side.

(Shade side looks good)

3. Get rid of all screws that menards gives you with this. Go to Home Depot and buy both composite deck screws and composite face plate screws from there.

4.

They’re going to fade so go darker than you want to.

5. If I had it to do again, I would have paid the extra and gone with that treks brand.

Product or Service Mentioned: Ultradeck Deck Board.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

You fail to say which series of the Ultra Deck you used. If you look at their literature they show how much each series of decking will fade.

As the price goes up they ad more UV protection. That being said there are more reasons than fading to spend a little more and use Trex.
