Menards - They sold my Father's Day Gift
Went to pick-up my Father’s Day gift my family bought on 6/13/2019. When my family bought it they were with the salesperson and they saw them on the shelf.
The family specifically wanted to be sure it was going to be there as they could not hide them at home and I could come after Father’s Day to pick them up. They received a Picking List and purchased the items. As it turns out Menards later sold them to someone else and didn’t inform us until I came in to pick them up. Since the item was paid for and Menards was just holding them, Menards literally sold my Father’s Day gift.
It is a discontinued item and Menards was unwilling to ship the items from stores that had them. The options given to us were to drive another half hour as another store appeared to have them and take that chance or make the family take another trip to get a refund as it was on her card and purchase something else.
Any leadership would have simply had an employee go to another store to get the product or seen if a similar product would suffice rather than putting the monkey on the customer back to fix the company's mistake. Improvements in tracking in-store products and customer service need to take place.
Reason of review: Order processing issue.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.
Menards Cons: Leadership.

That sounds terrible, but unfortunately not unsurprising with Menards. They only care about the penny today, not the satisfied customer.
I agree. They are being penny wise and pound foolish!
Take a minute and read the picking ticket. It will tell you to take your product with you.
It may not be there if you come back later. It's odd that they will set a product aside for 14 days if you buy it on-line but if you buy it in the store it may or may not be there if you come back later.
A person clearly dealt with another human at Menards at the store to make this transaction for Father's day. Yet one more Menards can do no wrong post by Anonymous. Poor business practices.
Who is sticking up for Menards? Just look at the picking list they say they have.
It tells you they aren't going to hold the product.
And what is stupid about their policy is that the will hold product you buy on Line. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
so they are supposed to hold product for people now?? Wow, so now thousands of products will be held there, what a mess that will be.
Take your product with you, problem solved, everyone always looking to point the finger when this could easily have been avoided. wow people are sad now, it's always someone else's fault.
