You wont know this and they certainly won't tell you, but you only have about a week to cancel the order (before payment goes through to the wholesaler) or you are on the hook no matter what you think. Waiting almost a month and then changing your mind because you don't agree with shipping practices when 3rd parties are involved is on you, and you should pay partial restitution for that. If you didn't like the wait the alternative was to go somewhere else or get something not requiring an order to be placed.

In any case, anything special ordered is subject to contract and if you were as aware of that as you are claiming in these comment responses, you knew that you were going to forfeit a recoup fee of some sort anyway.

As I've stated it wasnt the wait time that I had a problem with its that when I watched on the tracker and it said it was in store and they couldn't find it and with all that mix-up I didn't even get a sorry from management that's when I didn't want to wait they couldn't even tell me why it wasn't there so they had to reorder I should have just cancelled the order then but I thought I will give them a little longer.

You irresponsible person. Like so many folks these days, you not only are unaware of what you signed, you are too ignorant (or more likely simply too lazy) to pay attention to what you are commuting yourself to.

EVERY special order CONTRAT placed at Menards requires a signature at the register before you leave the store. If you choose to sign, then you are agreeing to said CONTRACTS, which states VERY CLEARLY that what you see is an ESTIMATED delivery date based on many factors, most of which are out of Menards control. You also agreed to a 25% restocking fee when you CHOSE to sign the sigcap. It is noone's fault but your own.

You signed the contract - if you did not understand you simply had to ask. QUIT YOUR WHINING!!

I'm not ignorant nor irresponsible I know what I signed. I would have waited but when I look on their tracker on there website and it said my item was in store and I go to get it and they can't find it and they say they don't know why it hasn't come yet then I'm done .

I'm very proud to work for a company that would never do that to a customer they want there customer leaving happy . I didn't even get a sorry for any of the mix up I understand it happens but it would be nice to hear they are sorry.

The original complaint said you went in to cancel the order because when you checked online it wasn't in route to the store yet. Now you say the tracker said it was at the store. I have to wonder how in touch with reality you are.

I don't really care what anyone thinks I know I was not treated right by Menard's and that it.I was just trying to keep the story short.

When you special order a product from a store you are asking them to bring in a product they do not stock in their store and have no room on the sales floor for. Your are given an approximate due date based on information provided by the vendor.

Rather than going to the store you could have easily called to have them check with the vendor on the status of the order. If you had wanted to cancel they could have asked the vendor if it could be canceled and if it could you would have been given a full refund.

If your order was already being produced the vendor may not be willing to cancel the order which would mean it will still be shipped to the store. In this case you would be charged a re-stocking charge which is used by the store to offset losses they take in selling your order at a reduced price in a bargain area.

Not true. They carried a cabinet base we wanted but did not have it in stock was considered a special order with an extra cost.

And we were told it would be 2 weeks well it hasn't even started it's journey so it will be a month. Thanks Menards.

They had one all setup in store so if you have in store and on sale you should carry them. But that's not the case I was told it would be there on 3/13 and on 3/27 was still not there and according to there website tracking it wasn't even in route to store.
