We bought a $600 snow blower (Remington brand) from Menards. They told us that THEY had already assembled it, we just needed to put gas in and start it.

However, upon the first use of this item it would not stop. Meaning as soon as the key went in the thing started rolling and there was no stop. Safety hazard! Also the shute to throw snow would not turn.

Called Menards, was told that because we had used it we had to take it to a service center for fixing. After one use??? How else would we know that it would not work properly????? So now I get to pay a delivery fee to have it picked up and hope for no more snow until it gets fixed?

Very disappointed in Menards and will start shopping at Home Depot or Lowes from now on, after shopping at Menards for over 25 years. What a joke.

I am going to assume that you feel the signs by the snowblowers telling you that it would have to go to a service center rather than being returned to the store don't apply to you. They are there so you know their return policy on power equipment BEFORE you make the purchase. If you disagreed with this policy, you should have bought it somewhere else.

Not gonna be a different experience if you don't research brands/model numbers before you go.
