I am surprised when I tried to place an online order with Menards website for $92 just now. Upon check out, they tacked on a $2.80 processing fee, for them to enter the order??

I was going to pick up the merchandise at the store, not even have the items delivery. This seems absurd. Why would a store charge someone placing an order electronically online a processing fee??? I have not dealt with anyone online store which tacks on this additional fee.

I like Menards. They just opened a store near my town. But, after this... I may need to go back to Lowes and/or Home Depot.

I still have not placed my order!!

Menards, please explain or fix this!! You suspect you will lose business when customers notice this fee!

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Monetary Loss: $3.

Preferred solution: Remove the online processing fee! If you like, send me a nice discount code for trouble! :).

Menards Pros: Variety and the prices.

Menards Cons: Online ordering and processing fee.

Agree it's a BS fee. I'll go to store to avoid, but there are other big box stores closer so I just avoid Menards altogether.

I just visited my local Menards to pick up a case of black silicone caulk. NONE in stock.

Paint manager told me that they (local Menards) has not had any in stock since January 2022. SO I try to order it on line and find the same thing a processing fee to order an item normally carried in the store, but out of stock.

NOPE, it's the principle of the thing. I didn't order it and I'll find it with another supplier.

I didnโ€™t think much about this fee years ago, but now that virtually every store offers free pick up I think itโ€™s bad business. Also the fee is per specific item, no matter the price of that item or how many I buy- for instance I can buy 100 cans of blue paint and only be charged $1.40 (the fee at my local store), but if I add 1 can of red paint Iโ€™ll be charged an additional $1.40. The least they could do is make the fee relative to how much you spend since for some items the fee would be more than the item itself.

I placed an order for $998 and they tacked on the service fee. But the order was pulled or ready.

I had to find the items and load them in to my truck. Never again...................

They likely charge a fee because it does take labor to get your order together. I work for a small greenhouse and we have orders that want 1 or 2 of an item for 30 different things.

Running back and forth and tagging can take up to a half of workers running around for one person.

If you got it your self you'd likely spend an hour in the store wanding around. It's killing small businesses that don't charge a fee for pickups or online orders.

Same. I just will go in to the far back of the store and have the person at the desk print an order for me.

Then Iโ€™ll take the printout, wait in line and pay at the register.

The labor costs will be more for Menards than the stupid fee would have been and they pissed me off. Lose/lose.

I will never order ahead if I have to pay a processing fee.

Guest

Yup! I was going to place an order on Menards' Website for "pick up in store." The item cost $8.

The processing fee was $1.80 -- an extra 22.5%!

Forget it! I'll buy it from Home Depot, which doesn't charge a processing fee for a "pick up in store" order.

I was going to place an order for whipping and my fee was $19!!!! What's up with that?

Guest

Just saw this fee today. It literally doubled my order price. Needless to say I will not be making the purchase.

Guest

They even charge these *** processing charge even if you are paying for shipping. I dont know any other company that charges you for pulling orders.

Guest

same. not going to submit order.

probably go back to HD. pissed. spent a long time assembling that order for bits and pieces only to get smacked across the face with a $28!!!

processing fee... WTH?

I tried placing a order to pick up at store and on a $200 order, they were charging $16 processing fee in addition to tax. CRAZY so i tried placing same order to be delivered at home and the fee went up to $17 WTF!?

what are they doing? they already have the bs 11% rebate to make it seem like their prices are better and now they want to charge 9% processing charge for shopping with them?

Itโ€™s not just that too because their rebate takes 4-6 to process and itโ€™s a store credit not cash back. They are so shady

Guest

Oh my...really? Customer service will cost $ @ Menards?

Home Depot...Lowes.. Excellent customer service is included with every order.

Guest

Yeah went to place an order that was 290.00 before tax or shipping and they added over 30 for processing fee so Iโ€™m done with menards. Enough is enough I will gladly spend more going to mom and pa shops near me after seeing that, or see pricing on their rivals. Not to mention the frustration with online site when I logged in it cleared everything from my cart had to add everything again just to see a new hefty processing fee no thanks over this headache.

Guest

Menard's provides this tidbit of information... "Save time - let our Team process your online order for convenient shipping to you or fast pickup in store." Really?

Who else is going to process the order??? I had almost $800 in my shopping cart and emptied it because of the $4.20 fee.

Guest

I was going to place an order that totaled just under $40. The "processing fee" was $7 !

I backed out. MENARDS Please stop this stupidity.
