Menards - Poor Quality
Purchased bi fold doors and a 6 panel solid pine door from Menards. The quality of both are terrible.
Mastercraft does not make a good product. After pre conditioning and staining the pine door and jam, the veneer started to come off of the jam. So much for solid. I managed to get it back together enough to get it installed.
Time consuming work because of the poor quality. I painted and then installed the hardware on a couple of Mastercraft bi fold doors. During installation the supposedly solid part of the door at the bottom where the pivot is installed broke. When trying to pull the hardware out, in an attempt once again to salvage it, the hardware broke.
I hope to take this product back and get a full refund. The part that is the most frustrating is the re work. Start all over with paint, the install, not to mention the time to take them back. During this remodel project I purchased both bi fold doors and solid pine doors from Home Depot, no issues.
Much better quality. I am back to being a loyal Home Depot customer.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $500.
Preferred solution: Full refund.

You need to understand what you are buying. Neither the door you purchased at Menards or Home Depot were solid pine doors.
Both were a veneered solid core door. the core could be laminated wood, particle board or MDF.
Take a closer look at the description of what you buy. Both Menards and Home Depot have a warranty on their products that will cover the product itself but not the finishing.
