Just spent over$356 for new Troy Bilt lawn mower model TB 210 was mostly assembled in box I added oil and gas as instructions stated the lawnmower started first try the model has front wheel drive that would not work ,i talked to a dept. manager about returning it but she said no way since gas had been added I worked for 15 years in this type of BUSINESS and they could have put it in the locked garden area give me a new one and made a happy customer .I ended up driving it 30 mile to service center and they will not be able to look at for over a week then another 30 miles home and the 30 miles i drove to buy MENARDS SUCKS THIS IS ONE CUSTOMER GONE

User's recommendation: order from maufacture because thats who you will end up dealing with.

Monetary Loss: $400.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Menards Pros: Selection.

Menards Cons: Lack of concern over issue.

Would you have bought a returned lawn mower that had gas and oil in it? Use a local dealer not a big box retailer.


The big box stores has shut down any local stores and I had shopped all day,I would have bought a lawn mower that had gas and oil if it had been marked as factory serviced discounted and no warranty this was not the case


Would you be satisfied buying a $400 item and having it fail from day one, then the retailer's only response is to pass the buck to another business far away????


It pays to read the signs they have posted by their gas powered equipment that clearly tell you they aren't going to take it back and that you will have to take it to a service center. At least they warn people that they aren't going to help you if you have a problem with it.


Heed the warning and take your business elsewhere. The best way a consumer can vote is with their wallet when stores are thrilled to take your money but tell you to talk to the hand when you have an issue from right out of the box.


Not if that was policy! Read terms of agreement before you purchase!

Most big box retailers won’t exchange if gasoline added.

That is why there is a manufacturer warranty. Research the manufacturer better next time.


If that's the retailer's policy then I'd tell the manager I'm taking my business elsewhere due to the policy. If you buy a new car and fails to start when trying to leave the dealer's lot is the salesman going to say " tough *** the car already has gas, oil, and coolant so you as the customer are expected to have it towed away at your expense to our competition 40 miles away???
