My husband and I live about 70 miles from Owensboro,Ky store. We were building a huge polebarn and was told they did the building packages.

We went there on 7/3 and dropped 24,000.00 on materials. Was told they would be delivered in two weeks. Paid for the delivery fees and all. After about two weeks received a call that they couldn't get it all on two trucks so would need to call and pay to get the trusses delivered.

Called for a couple days (to keep from driving there again) and the phone lines were down. Made another trip there just to pay deliver fee so that the material could be delivered in a timely manner. Then another week went by and the trusses were delivered and we was asked if we took advantage of the 11% rebate. No one ever told us of the rebate that started on 7/5 or we would have waited the two days and could have got back over 2,000.00.

Called the store to find out about it and was told of we came there on Saturday the store manager would be there and possibly could do it. Husband made a third trip there to be laughed at at the front desk And the lady was very rude about it. I called the store manager and he said nothing could be done. I asked for his managers name and he told me he didn't have one and only answered to corporate.

Got their email address to file a complaint about the rudeness at the store, the amount of trips to handle this, the amount of time to get materials and the rebate. All very detailed with transaction amount and dates. That same day we received a email from Ray telling us to submit our receipts to Arlene Krueger and she would process our rebates. Another promise that wasn't kept!

Got a letter from her saying it wasn't possible and we would not receive it. Not once but twice she declined it! You would think that when a customer is spending $24,000.00 they would be told of such promotion or even honor it two days before it starts since it was on 7/3 we purchased it and the promotion was on 7/5. Its now 8/30 and we have yet to receive all the materials we ordered.

Never again will we set foot in another Menards.

We will also let everyone else know the horrible experience we have had.

Menards doesn't tell stores about sales like 11% so they don't tell you it's comming. They feel in the time you wait to buy you could change your mind or buy from else where.

But you have some misinformation in your story if you were yet to receive your merchandise they simply return it and rebuy it to get your sale price in 14 days.

If you Allready have the product sorry buts it's policy. Menards is one guy not a public held company its on the bottom of your paperwork u chose not to read


When they run the 11% rebate all their other sale prices go away. I bet you got a sale price on a lot of your pole barn.

How much of a discount did you get when you purchased the barn compared to what the 11% rebate on regular prices would be? You don't get both.
