We purchased two post lights on line on 5/16/17 and had them shipped to the Manchester, MO. store.

When we received them they turned out to be of poor quality. We returned them the next day and were told that there was a 25% restocking charge. No where during the purchase or check out was there any mention of a restocking charge. We spoke to several managers at the store, including the night manager Ryan who were totally uncooperative and behaved with total lack of caring about the situation at all.

The store has a restocking policy that they point out. If we had known that there was a potential for a 25% restocking charge ($37.50) we would not have purchased the units sight unseen. The store manager refused to waive the restocking fee.

What adds further frustration to the whole affair is that the store is now selling the same lights for $30 less than what we paid 4 days ago. I assume that we could still get 11% rebate on this reduced price.

Product or Service Mentioned: Menards Manager.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $38.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Menards Pros: Selection, Ease of using website, Prices.

Menards Cons: Hate their rebate system and return policies, Lack of caring on part of personnel.

It's always a good idea to look at return policies before you place an on-line order anywhere. Had you looked at their policy before you placed the order you would have seen that there will be a 25% restock on returns they accept.

If they stock it at the store they will accept the return with a 25% restock charge.

If it isn't stocked at the store there are a list of items that they won't accept returns on at all and the rest is at their discretion with a 25% restock fee. If you have a store in your area, buy it there and save the re-stock fee on stocked merchandise.
