We purchased a refrigerator during a rebate week. It was delivered with damage.

Menards offered a reduction in price if we would keep the damaged one rather than having it replaced, we accepted. We fully expected that we would also get a rebate based on the lower amount paid.

After waiting 8 weeks for the rebate we were told that since we accepted the lower cost we would not receive any rebate.

This leaves us with a damaged refrigerator that cost us more than if we had sent back the damaged one for a good one.

Oh ho, that's pretty shady! Normally I chalk up things like this to consumers not using common sense and not bothering to inform themselves, but of the managers definitely pulled a fast one on you there, intentional or not.

Discounted items are price overriden which are automatically ineligible for rebates, that is true, and in this case normally a gm would normally have the front end just write out a credit at the store level for compensatory purposes because of this. Seems like they went the other way on this one though....

What was the original and reduced prices? Let's do the math. X /
