Had a key that did not cut. Bought 5 keys.

Went to customer service for a refund. Young lady called another young lady named Zianna, when Zianna came to the desk, I explained to her that one of my keys came out blank &;; I needed a refund. She said. " we dont do that call the # on the side of the machine .

I said , oh no I just want a refund for the one key that came out uncut. She did not apologize, or fain interest in my business. I had a cart full of products that I was GOING to purchase, I said, "mam, all I need is a refund for this one key that did not cut, I dont need a refund for my whole order as 4 of the keys came out cut. "

She said" #s on the side of the machine." Im not going to keep repeating myself , what do you not understand"

At this time, I asked to speak to the manager.

She replied " there is no one over me, I said, well I would like to speak to your general manager, she said "they never in the store"...

I said well I would like to speak to somone else..

She huffed through a back entrance gate &; slammed it hard as she burst through it,

I assumed she was retrieving another manager for me to speak with ( she definitely was not interested in my dilema or willing to help or listen ,

I waited about 7 minutes. She came back through the gate to the customer service desk & said to me " i done told you there is a number on that machine, what dont you understand about what I said?"

I said to her, "young lady, I havedisrespectedected you in anyway, why are you treating me with such disrespect"?

She said " cause I dont like repeating myself. & you obviously dont listen, cause I told you the # is on the machine & you dont seem to get it."

I said to her," I spend alot of money here & This experience with you is making me never want to shop here again."

She replied" boobye!" & waived her hand at me . , so disrespectfully that I was in shock!!

I went to another desk, located in front of the registers to find someone else to speak to, I have been a retail manager for 25 years & have NEVER seen such a display of horrible customer service... Never once did this young lady ever apologize, or act like she was interested in helping me & to say to a guest, the things she said , unreal... If I would have been nasty, or direspectful, or disagreeable, or mean, maybe I could have some understanding, but this young lady was rude, dismissive, , disrespectful, & ACTUALLY HORRIBLE! IT WAS SHOCKING!!

SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS CUTE WHEN I TOLD HER SHE MADE ME FEEL LIKE NEVER SHOPPING AT THAT STORE AGAIN, WITH HER CURT & DISRESPECTFUL " BOOBYE" COMMENT.

Now, please know, I never raised my voice, never Was demanding or kurt, never was anything but respectful, all I wanted was a refund for a key that did not cut at all!!!! Really!! & to be treated this way , WHY?????????????????????????????

WHEN I finally was able to speak to another manager, ( I found another associate, that helped me locate another manager) Michelle listened to what happened to me, explained to me that the key company was a third party & not represented by the store & gave me a # so I could try to get a refund . What on earth was that other ladies problem, that she could not treat me with a tiny bit of courtesy??????

I WILL NEVER EVER, EVER WALK IN THAT STORE AGAIN BECAUSE A SUPPOSED ASSISTANT MANAGER ???

CHOSE TO TREAT ME IN THIS MANNER TODAY....

WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS SHE THINKING??

IS IT WORTH HER FEELING SUPERIOR TO TREAT A GUEST THIS WAY????

MY FAMILY SPENDS AT LEAST 100$ A MONTH AT THIS LOCATION .

ALL MY PAPER PRODUCTS, ALL MY CLEANING SUPPLIES, PET SUPPLIES, & MY HUSBAND IS A CONTRACTOR SO WE ALWAYS NEED TOOLS , SCREWS WOOD, ETC.

WE ALSO ALWAYS BOUGHT ALL OF OUR APPLIANCES, & HOME IMPROVEMENT SUPPLIES FROM THIS LOCATION!!

LISTEN TO ME WGEN I TELL YOU, THAT BUSINESS WILL NOW GO TO LOWES & HOME DEPOT...

I AM STILL IN SHOCK....

I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE IN A MILLION YEARS AN ASSISTANT MANAGER WOULD BEHAVE THIS WAY TO ANYONE....

HORRIBLE...

I TRIED TO CONTACT THE GENERAL MANAGER SCOTT FIRSCH, BUT WAS GIVEN A PHONE # THAT WAS NOT IN SERVICE...

Clearly you canโ€™t follow directions. She told you โ€œIโ€™m sorry we donโ€™t do thatโ€ then told you what to do.

That wasnโ€™t good enough for you. You instead chose to assume that the employee had chosen on her own to not give you a refund when it wasnโ€™t in her power to do anything about it. Then you get ANOTHER manage, which was male, who then told you the EXACT SAME THING!! So you believed the male and tried to turn this into a CS issue.

Iโ€™ve worked in management both middle and higher and I donโ€™t repeat myself and even I get frustrated having to tell some moronic mouthbreather that what the female employee said was in fact the truth. Itโ€™s called policy. You do remember that right? You pushed the issue and she got snippy with you.

Why? Because itโ€™s not about customer service ms. Karen. You were given customer service when she informed you of what you had to do.

YOU just didnโ€™t like what you heard and threw a tantrum. Maybe the reality is that YOU need to be a better customer. You WILLINGLY CHOSE to use a vending machine instead of a qualified key cutter. That was all you.

You made the choice and now that there is a issue you want a human being to step in a solve your problems. Sorry but this is 100% on the choices you made, deal with it like an adult. You made the assumptions. You made the choices.

The employee had zero say in the issue and the machine has nothing to do with said employee.

You didnโ€™t get your way and you showed who you really are. Shameful!!

Such a long complaint for you to say you had to hear it from 2 people that you needed to call the number on the machine for a refund. You didn't pay Menards for the key, you payed the owner of the kiosk. If you had followed the instructions on the kiosk and called the number provided you never would have had to get a Menards employee involved in the first place.
