Do not buy Room Darkening shades from Menards
We just purchased 2 room darkening shades from Menards, and when I put the first one up, it let more light in than our previous shades. So I called the store to see about returning them. I was told that there would be a restocking fee to return them because they were cut for our windows.
After arguing with the manager, I finally just hung up on them, and I will probably go to Lowe's where I should have gone in the first place.
I would suggest you go to a different if you need room darkening shades, because these don't come to darkening the room. Why would any manufacture call these room darkening is beyond me.
Lowe's has real shades that block the light, and so does Home Depot. I have spent thousands of dollars at this Menards since they opened, and those days are over. Menards you just lost a lot of purchase's.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $34.
Preferred solution: Full refund.

You may have had blackout shades in the past. Blackout shades block all the light coming in, room darkening shades do not.
Before you have new shades cut anywhere be sure of the terms you use and exactly what you want the shades to do. Don't expect any store to give you a full refund on products you have custom cut to your sizes.
Is the room darker with the shades pulled down than it is when they are up? If so, they are "room darkening" shades. Maybe *** Menard's room darkening shades but room darkening none the less.
