They used to call it Flim Flaming, then Hustling, then Rip Off, then Bait and Switch, or Cover Up .However, in today's world with 400% intre$t Title or Payday Loans they just call it Business !

Corruption at it's finest and they don't even need a gun to rob you. I Bought this Supposedly Solid Oak door in Farmington, MO. at the New Menards that was just recently opened. The door had some marks and a few gouges in it I needed a 32" door to replace the one in a 100 plus year old home and I didn't want to disturb the original door frame .

So I searched for over an hour, they had several damaged doors in their clearance bin, but nothing 32" and they were all marked 10.00 - 1,100 dollars but the highest priced were Exterior metal with expensive looking glass. The one I had found was 31-13/16 wide X 80 inches tall. But when your in a pinch, you can use it just don't inset your hinges, so we took it home. Set the hinges drilled the door lock assembly holes and hung the door it looks great !

However I picked up the plugs of wood that came out of the door where we put the lock set assembly and at that point discovered it wasn't as the management claimed, A Solid Oak Door it is in fact a pressed wood door with the thinnest veneer that I have ever seen in my life and I'm 64 years old.

Talk about Scam artists and thieving liars.Never Again will they get a penny from me, the trust is gone.

Review about: Door.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I liked: Generally the staff.

I didn't like: Response of local management, Store manager.

You purchased a solid core oak door, not a solid oak door.I'm not quite sure what planet you come from but you're not going to find solid oak doors for $100.

Shop the competition and you will find the vast majority of paneled wood doors are a veneer over a solid core of particle board or fiberboard. This construction makes the doors affordable and avoids the pitfalls of splitting and warpage of a solid wood door.

You got exactly what you paid for.Menards isn't to blame for the fact that you aren't familiar with door construction and pricing.
