Went to Menards in Barboursville, wv. On a Saturday check out at 5:08 pm with a special order cabinet went back into store on Sunday to cancel that order it 3:54 pm

So less than 24 hours checked order status on website order had not even been placed with the factory yet they charged me $108.00 restock fee however receipt stated it could be at there discretion, now had order been placed and on its way to store for pickup or had it been a few days since placing ordered id understand the restock fee but neither situation had taken place therefore I will never return.

User's recommendation: Stay away from Menards RIP OFF RIP OFF!!!!

Having worked for Menards in the past I know that special orders are transmitted to the vendor as soon as you pay for the product. Some vendors are working 24 hrs a day 7 days a week.

Others are not. Did you just talk to the cashier at the returns desk? Your best bet would have been to talk to the department manager in the cabinets department to see if they could cancel the order. If they could cancel the order there should have been no re-stock charge.

On the other hand I have found products to be in preparation for production or in production within hours of the time they were ordered and too late to cancel.

The moral to the story is that you need to be darn sure that you want a product before you order it. Stores don't want to get stuck with products they will have to discount to sell.
