On 6/5/2017 we ordered Carpet for my living room and hall, it was installed on 6/10 came in and what a surprise it was the wrong carpet, not even one we had looked at. talked to the manager at the store and he acted like it was our fault.

Sent pictures and complaint to Menards, got back a letter from Brenda Garrett from Guest Services saying she sent it back to the Princeton store where I had told her he would do nothing, would get the carpet I ordered but would not pay to have it installed which cost me Four Hundred. Talked to Mr Lambert again and said the same thing, they made a mistake and I am the one paying for it, now I don't know what to do , get my attorney, have six daughters, get them to go on all their facebook friends in their states and get the word out.

I am 83 and my husband of 67 years is 88, we had a hard time saving for new carpeting shouldn't have to deal with this.. By the way try to get with anyone at Corporate is almost impossable.

Reason of review: Problem with delivery.

Monetary Loss: $1111.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Menards Cons: Employee attitudes, Employees were rude and did not resolve my problems.

Location: 201 S Richland Creek Dr, Princeton, IN 47670, USA

Menard's is pretty specific in never doing any installations or favoring one installer over another. If you happened to get contact information on an installer and hired them Menard's has nothing to do with it other than maybe having that contact information available for you.

It's the same thing as looking up a carpet installer in the yellow pages, (remember the yellow pages?). You certainly couldn't sue the yellow pages for a phone number they had listed. As far as ordering the wrong carpet, Menard's has agreed to replace it free of charge, and that is their only legal liability.

You're only legal option now is to take Menard's to small claims court for the additional labor charges, but good luck with that. They are (like all corporate entities) quite prepared for your lawsuit.

always check project supplies for accuracy b4 work is started esp when youre payin someone to do it

Menards is offering to replace the carpet they sold you. They did not install the carpet.

You either picked it up or had it delivered.

You should have looked at it before you had someone install it to assure it was the correct carpet. As Menards didn't install it or charge you for installation it would be your responsibility to re-install it.

If you paid by credit card, dispute the charge. Apparently, Menard's has admitted the mistake---are you sure---look at your sales invoice and verify that the carpet you wanted is, indeed listed on it.

If so, Menard's is trying to *** you into paying for the removal and re-installation because they would have to pay the installer again. If you paid them by check then you can sue them in small claims court, which will cost you a couple of hundred dollars. For things like this, payment by credit card is the safest as you have some protection when the vendor doesn't do the job correctly. Good luck.

And, of course never shop at Menard's again. But, do take a look at your sales invoice.

Menards has no in-house installers and vouches for none. Their vendors are all third party.

As such, OP won't be getting anthing for installation or contractors fees. This is an issue for small claims, not hiding behind that "customer service" *** and trying to pick thier pocket for labor fees they are not liable for.

I have COPD and could not be there when installed, The guy does have his name up there so he picked it up and brought it to my home and installed it. He had nothing to do with them ordering the wrong carpet.

I got his name from the store and he done a good job, just they ordered and gave him the wrong carpet, yes I hired him, but the employee ordered the wrong carpet, there was three of us and my grandson gave him the measurements, I gave him the sample which was brown, not gray and bl which we got. we are too old to go have all this done over, having all furniture removed staying away from home... We think Menards should pay at least half of the price of the carpet that I have to live with. Also was told by someone returning a door Sat.

evening the 5th that a man and women were there throwing a fit because they also came home to the wrong carpet, guess they got mine..... trying to find their name to be sure.

Paid with Menards Card. we shop at Menards at least four times a month my Grandson even got all his supplies for him new home there, no problem...
