Menards Work Experience Review

Menards team member eau Claire wi in the distribution center. Your complaining about helping a customer while another one waits? You wouldn't last 2 minutes in sortation. I love my job. Been a team member since Sept 2014 and now a supervisor. You wanna talk about some mind blowing work? Try standing for 10 hours straight, 5 days a week, 50 plus hours a week alternating sundays...all night constantly pulling product of a line building pallets of product. Sounds easy don't it. Its not so easy when your autos are at 40-50 thousand and stock at 25000. I hate when people complain there. I hate quitters. I think some people just need to quit bein sallys and man up and take on the job your superior told you to do. Don't like the place, the job and the management I'm sure Wal-Mart still needs greeters and McDonald's always needs fast food workers.

Here's one for you! How about working a 72 hour week, with three days at 14 hours, standing and walking, with ONE 1/2 hour break for lunch?

Not once but EVERY WEEK FOR 8 MONTHS. And the person scheduling you those hours (the department manager) scheduling himself 48 hours and leaving early almost every day. And when you talk to the store manager and the personnel manager about it, they say the same thing you are, SUCK IT UP! And on a particularly slow evening in February you ask if you can leave early, and the store manager tells you no.

1 hour early. Can't do it.

Or even better, when your 82 year old mother spends the night in a hospital after a mini-stroke and needs a ride home, you ask to come in late an hour so you can pick her up and give her a ride home before you come in and they say "no way!". How about that?

I had over 30 years in retail when i went to work for them and i have NEVER experienced anything like it.

There is a huge difference between pushing someone to perform and taking advantage of them.

They are one of the most disgusting companies I have ever worked for. That is the only possible way I can describe the way I was treated.

Menards in Mount Pleasant, Michigan - Unhappy customer

I went to get the wife a star shower, I get there they ain't got it and the sales person tells me that "This ones better because it has 8 movies I can show and it's better than the star shower" I paid $31. and some cents. The wife didn't want it because it was a piece of junk the program wouldn't even show up on the wall, I take it back two hours away to Mt. Pleasant and they guys gave me $15 HALF Of WHAT I PAID FOR IT... The guys says " It's on the receipt that you only get half back Store policy" knowing it was a Christmas gift and wouldn't be opened till Christmas anyways. If he would've told me that before I wouldn't have ever bought it, but that's your policy this is my policy YOU GUYS STOLE $15 FROM ME, AND I SPEND MORE THAN THAT IN ONE SHOPPING SPREE BUT NOT NO MORE BECAUSE I WONT DUE BUISNESS WITH THIEFS- IM A BUISNESS OWNER I RUN A FARM AND I HAUL THE AMISH THERE WE SPEND, I SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THERE AND WITH THE AMISH THAT I BRING OVER THERE THEY SPEND LOTS OF MONEY. This is a public forum, not a Menards website. It always amuses me when people post on here assuming they're writing to Menards.

It's clear your intelligence is rather low based on this error alone. Then you toss in all the spelling and grammar errors and well I would place you around the level of a 5th grader at best.

I take by your command of the english language that you couldn't understand the return policy printed on the receipt or posted at the return desk that makes it pretty clear that they are only going to refund clearance prices on seasonal products after they go on clearance. Store don't want product back that they can't sell because the season is over.

That's strange. My store set bintags the night before sale start, usually an hour or two before close.

We would honor the price, but the guest would have to tell the cashier which items were on sale.

The cashier would then radio back to the departments to have them check the bintags to verify that a sales price was up and could be honored.

It's been a while since my times as a manager, but as far as I know, it's company policy to honor prices even on expired/prematurely set bintags. I'd ever tell the customer on sale set nights to make sure to tell the customer to radio back to me.

One person was a store manager the other was a front end manager! The front end manager deals with transactions everyday all day long, and the store manager is normally up to snuff on policies.

So of course these are the two people you would be dealing with if there was an issue...... Now based on the little information you provided, I can safely say they had every right to assume you maybe trying to scam them.

Lowes has more complaints on here if you're not aware. Menards is privately owned and often handles things differently than a Lowes would.

Menards employes are not allowed to recommend contractors. They can hand you a list of contractors, but that's it.

They have zero affiliation with them. They don't know how qualified they are. Anyone can get their name on that list!

They will be terminated if they recommend any contractor to anyone. And like the other poster pointed out what does AGE HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING?

I doubt it is the same pipe they stock in the store. If it was you would have just purchased it at the store.

The 25% restock charge is because it is a non-stock special order item that will end up in a bargain area selling for pennies on the dollar. Stores shouldn't take all the loss because customers order extra product or don't confirm what they are ordering is going to work for them before they order.

You can walk into the store you made the purchase at and enter your card number in the kiosk at the front of the store to get copies of your receipts. Posting your credit card number on a public website is just inviting the whole world to make charges on your card.

Why on earth would you do that. As the previous person said CANCEL YOUR CARD NOW!!!
