Verified Reviewer New ReviewerPurchase dispute
The model number should be listed on the invoice they gave you as well as on a label on the dryer itself. The box would have been discarded when they put the dryer on display.
They should have the instruction manuals for the unit. Menards is about the only store that doesn't discount floor models. Most stores realize the wear and tear kids give display models banging doors and spinning dials and offer a lower price to reflect that.
- Only 40 miles from my house one way
- No place else you can really go
No REBATE
User's recommendation: Beware of these rebates.
Rebate receipt never recieved.
Hate to tell you this but they aren’t going to come up with a duplicate rebate receipt. You should have gone to the store and made the purchase and avoided this situation.

Verified Reviewer New ReviewerWorst company ever
The chain is on backwards. Any saw that is actually running will cut wood as long as the chain in on correctly/sharp.
The statement about Menards employees not knowing how to use the product is judgmental, ignorant, and short sighted. I'm sure there are some that could use training but many that could work circles around the person that made that comment. The chainsaws sold at Menards (Troy Bilt and Poulan) are no different than the same models sold elsewhere, with the Poulan being made by Husqvarna. Dealer saws are not much different, having the same components, the higher end dealer saws have different materials making them more durable but at the end of the day a small engine is very basic, and you pay for the higher end components.
But at the end of the day, the complaint is due to the chain being on wrong, not anything to do with the quality of the saw. and is probably exactly why the no return policy is in place at Menards.
Too many people returning products they screw up themselves by not adding oil or mixing the gas and oil correctly or, as in this case, not have the chain on correctly and saw it's the saws fault, then Menards eats the cost of them. Its hard for people to understand that every return adds to future costs of an item, which it turns drives up retails.

Workers not knowing the merchandise
They shouldn't charge a re-stock charge if what they shipped was different than the sample and they can't get what was displayed. If you can't get the store manager to waive the re-stock charge contact your credit card company and dispute the charge stating that they can't provide the materials they displayed.
Bad customer service
Well, there are no Menards anywhere near Tampa or Florida for that matter, so your location doesn't help anyone in the future. Also, they many times won't load certain items if they feel they could be liable for something happening on the way home. Unfortunately in this sue happy world we are in, if they load it and it somehow causes damage to someones vehicle, etc, you can fully expect this guy to point the finger at the Menards workers for being the ones that loaded the product.

Menards hasn't called customers when orders arrive for years. They went from calling to sending post cards and then to e-mails.
With their receiving system the employees in the departments don't know the product has arrived and is waiting for pick up. Everything is automated and as soon as the product is entered in the computer as received an e-mail is sent.
If you don't provide an e-mail you need to call and check on your order. There is no one to see any note put on your order to call.

Verified Reviewer New ReviewerDissatisfied long time customer
Sweeping sawdust and bird feathers in the warehouse shed is far more important than helping a customer struggling to lift bulky merchandise. Quite possibly there was another employee hiding by the lumber recording you so he can post to YouTube. If you haven't used their rebates before there is a good chance you threw it away when it came. It's just a postcard with advertising on the back that looks like junk mail.
