Menards in Elmhurst, Illinois - Employees who don't know what they are doing

Menards what a joke. We have spent over 7000.00 on a kitchen remodel. They have rude nasty employees who do not know what they are doing. Delivery company is the worse received cabinets all up side down ,a broken counter top and don't plan on buying a backsplash seperate which we were told we could do because it comes without being mitered. Like other complaints ,They are nice if you or spending money but as soon as ou have a problem they don't care. We will never purchase another thing from them. So long Menards I hope you go out of Business

you are *** sad, first of all menards employees are for the most part college students working a part time job. how in the world are they expected to know everything.

we are are not certified plumbers or licensed electricians. we dont know everything.

If your their to buy something you should do some research on the project, because our job is to help you find product not build your *** kitchen. and who gives a *** about you measly 7grand, i sell over 4 grand per eight hour shift, times that by a store with over 100 employees working a day, i dont think we will miss your 7 thousand.

hate to break this to you, but you're not important enough. nobody cares about your *** kitchen remodel, it's your problem and it's on you to make sure it goes smoothly.

menards saves you money.

issues come up sometimes. but really, feel free to go to a cabinet specialty store and spend exorbitant prices for slightly better service.

Eh, with 230+ stores and contractors spending 15,000+ per day, I'm sure that we will be out of business soon because you are not going to purchase your $10 per month worth of *** (after all....you said that you were done with your $7000 kitchen). Go to Lowes and stop flattering yourself....we don't need you to stay in business.

Menards in Auburn, Indiana - We were unable to use coupons because we did not have a Big Card.

We bought several items last week and when we checked out we were told we could not use the coupons we got in the mail or paper because we did not have a Big Card. Don't send us the ads then. We buy most of our materials at Lowe's since it is closer to us. Most of our friends use Menards and we were satisfied with the products we bought just not the service. No where in print could we find the fact that we must use a Big Card to purchase coupon the items we wanted to buy there.

Actually I am a head cashier and on the bottom of the coupons that we send out to our loyal Big card Holders, it clearly states to use the coupons the purchase must be a min. 10 (sometimes) exculding the coupon product and it must be paid for on the Big Card.

Dude I use to work up front and they do have coupons. They usually come out during labor day or memorial day weekend on full sheet ads.

Sometimes they have a random one or two in an ad but that is rare. But, they should be able to get those coupons in the ad we always have millions of those.

But to the other person. If you want the worthless coupons so bad get a card you don't have to use it.

Well first off not ONE ad that menards runs ever..i mean EVER has coupons in it. We do however send out coupons to our guest how have a big card each month with their bill.

So there is no way for you to have coupons for menards unless you have a big card. Second did you how are you not sure if you got the "coupons" in the mail or paper?

I have a feeling you found the coupons in the parking lot because another guest lost them and tried to use them then realized you couldn't because they weren't yours. And what were the items you tried to buy?

Well, I guess Menards is now on the "Global Warming bandwagon". In my most recent visit to the store, this week, I was dismayed to see the compact flourescent light bulbs prominently displayed and the old standard, less expensive incandescent bulbs basically...

CFLs are ok, but since they have mercury in them, you're not supposed to throw them away. I have a whole box of bad ones that I have to get rid of.

Incandescents cannot be totally phased out because there are applications, in such things like appliances, that make using a different type of bulb impossible. LED bulbs are a bit expensive but if they actually can last 10 years, that's a plus.

If you do not like menards, get over it and shop somewhere else

I can't believe all the whine going on here get over it and move on with your life ..shop somewhere else if you don't like Menards, you will live longer and feel much better too! I like Menards and choose to shop there when the product is what I want and the price is right. You should do the same. If you have your shorts all in a knot then just go somewhere else and quit *** and moaning..and wasting you life on this goofy hate site. Good luck and consider counseling or anger management. I finally made 100 words as required, best wishes and chill.

Your defending them now but give it time. You will change your tune.

I had your attitude for over 20 years about them, too.

I will never go back. Save big money.

I went to Menards in Marion, IL. on April 9th to pick up a window 24"x30". I was ask to drive around the back on the store for pick up. The guard at the gate told me, door 9. An employee of Menards put in my back seat as I asked. I drove back to the gate....

If the policy was to empty your pockets or have your purse inspected before leaving a store I think you would have a HUGE problem with it. A trunk is the same thing, NO ONE can order a motorist to comply with company policy or be arrested!!!!

I purchased a lawn mower from Menards in April 2006. The friendly sales person informed me of a 30 day warranty through Menards and a 2 year warranty through the manufacturer for defects. In April 2006, the mower would not start. Like any person, I blamed it on the...

Uh, if you bought food and left it in your refrigerator for 6 months, would you scream at the grocer because you became ill? I believe even your owner's manual would show you to empty out your gas tank at the end of the year. You can read, can't you?

Menards in Minot, North Dakota - Terrible customer service

Another day of lousy customer service at Menards. It's impossible to find anybody to help you in the stock yard. One other customer said it best: "I should bring my dog to flush out the help". Very seldom has anybody offered to help or know the product they are selling. I have had a few scattered incidents of wonderful costumer service and product knowlege, but not nearly enough to make up for the usual ignoramuses that populate menards employees. Unfortunately, Menards is the only complete home improvement store in my area or I'd go elesewhere in a heartbeat.

I work in the yard too. People are idiots some times.

I don't mind helping people but I hate people who stand there and watch you load up 300 boards for their deck. Trust me we get those tards.

Then when you are done with them you are so pissed you take it out on the next guest who is a worthless *** too. So maybe next time you won't be so worthless.

Have you thought about how you are looked at or thought of by us? Does every guest that come in the doors of our company think that we have all the answers?

Sure it would be nice to be able to go anywhere and have someone hold your hand. But if thats what you want then you should have brought your momma. Quit complaning so much and just be thankful for the help you did get. Sometimes we the employees think that the people that come in our stores are some of the most incapable people around.

Some of our employees are pretty young or just there for the paycheck, hey hello , surprise! Get to know the ones with the answers and go to them. Don't give all employees *** because you did not have a clue when you came in. Just approach the ones you know are capable.

And by the way we did not stop being people when we punched in for our shift. Some of us actually take our work seriously and do not appreciate the *** we get from some of those that step into our place of work! Use common sense. There are managers, they are the ones that are paid to have the answers, but sometimes you may have to go to more than just the first person you see.

Remember the first person may have just got through some *** that did not have a clue as to the why they were there. Can't we all just get along?

Menards - Hillary @ Menard's Ft. Wayne, Indiana

I am *** pissed! Most customer service lately has sucked a big one. Today, it was Menard's. "Hillary Menard" tosses my light bulbs around on the conveyor and then slaps them into a bag, without making any attempt at eye contact. Then tells me I need to run my card as credit and not debit. It did run as debit. *** Hillary. Opon leaving, no thank you, no thanks for letting me bust your bulbs, no nothing. While passing the service desk, I relay to manager he need to train employees to 'thank' the customer. Screw Menard's.

Did you ever stop to think that that person could be new and not have any experience with helping people in the store because thats what it sounds like. Oh sorry I guess you did your job perfectly when you were new at it and didn't make mistakes.

You can always tell when you are helping the people that have worked in retail because they are the ones that understand that the people that work at the store have to help other people besides them and are patient. Oh man I can't believe that you had to wait a whole five minutes to find someone to help you...that must have been terrible.
