Menards in Madison, Wisconsin - Customer Service Big Joke

After recipt in hand. Because of the very cold day I made a BIG making a $2.59 purchase I needed to return it mistake I went in the out door. I was stopped immediately very rude person telling me I had to walk outside and come in the IN door. I am a senior and told her I just was making a return. She told me I had to go out and come in the IN door. I walked over to customer service and the whitch I encountered had called them and told them Not to take my return. She informed me she would have to look at the video before honoring my return. I do not appreciate being accused of stealing, which is how I interpeted the encounter. I will not step foot in Menards again and I will tell everybody I know how I was treated. I asked another clerck where the light bulbs were located and she told me she was on break. What a store!! You have nothing to offer me that I can not purchase elsewhere.

Here's a clue.....enter the store through the *** ENTRANCE doors, which are clearly labeled, and NOT the EXIT doors, which are also very clearly labeled! The way they have they registers set up in these store, the cashiers(yes, I happen to be one) freeze our *** off everytime the exit doors open!Probably 50% of the time they open it is due to dumb *** such as yourself being too lazy or *** to enter throught the correct door!

Pay attention and read the wording that is in front of you, people!!!! Jesus!!

Menards in Kalamazoo, Michigan - Menard's Website

I went to your website in search for a children's theme rug that was all out of in our local store. It is not user friendly like Lowe"s website. You can just type in what product you are looking for and it will pull up anything in that catagory to shop for on-line. You're website has the weekly ad, which is good, but I was unable to pull up "rugs" at all. I know somewhere there is a pretty good selection, if I could find it. You lost my sale, I went to Lowe's. I hope to see a change in this, we have spent alot of money at Menard's remodling our home.

Menards in Indianapolis, Indiana - Bad web site!!!!

I'm just looking for a gas power washer. There is no way of finding it on this web site. Ido not want a new home just something to wash it!!! I will go to Lowe's because i found it right away. There was no place to type power washer in. I also could not find a category that would get me where I needed to be. If you want people to shop and compare prices on products, you need to change your website. I'm sure if you take my advice it will pay off for you in the future. Brenda in PERU, INDIANA

Ever heard of using the telephone? You can look up store telephone numbers on the website.

And also, I just typed "power washer" in at lowes.com and it turned up no results.

So i'm curious how you managed to find it on the website. Besides, your still going to hav to get off your butt to drive there anyway to pick it up.

Menards APR is going to be way too high

I've been a loyal customer of Menards for many years. The APR is getting outragous. I have paid my Menards credit card off and will start doing business at Lowe's Lumber Yard. Menards; you can pass out your screws to some other American, But it won't be me. Your company is large enough to try and keep the interst rate low enough so the average American can do his home projects and emprovments . Be a leader in helping the American do it your selfer instead of taking more money out of their wallets. Battle Creek. Mi. Don Gray

How's about you send a complaint to the company that we do business with named HSBC. They're the credit company that "Know's Better" is talking about - they set the rates, they set the amount you must pay each month, they set everything.

We do not own HSBC, we only do business with them. If you need a website or and address to complain to, look at your next bill - both are provided on there.

interesting... thousands of other "americans" seem to do just fine with the APR. why don't you provide specific numbers to back up your claim?

are you afraid the facts will get in the way of your argument?

Put the blame where it belongs. Menards, just like most other retail stores have their name on a credit card issued by a credit company.

The credit company sets the rates, your credit limit and they are who you owe the money to--not the store. You will usually find these cards carry a higher rate than you will get on a VISA or Master Card if you have a good credit rating.

Use the store card for their promotions but be sure to pay it off before the promotional period ends to avoid the higher interest. If you need to carry a balance use you VISA or Master Card as Menards will accept them too.

Menards in Independence, Missouri - Rider carts

Menards should be made to have riding carts for the handicapped no matter what their handicap might be. Just a good business move, would increase the business that is for sure. But isn't it against the law not to provide them. Maybe someone should write to the proper organization and then see some results. It is not right to add to a person's pain in life. But Menards might need a new person in charge of customers affairs department. They might also think about putting sun deflectors on their frront doors so we can see the registers and read the debit machine, I believe they can afford to do so.

rider carts. I need a cart to get around the mega store.

Menards is he only hardware store that does not supply them, Lowe',Home Depot, Pick and Save and more do.Maybe John Menard should use some of the money he peeing away on a second rate race team and give the handicap something important.

They also lied to me when they opened a new store in Wi and e-mailed me that there woud be battery carts. Lost a cutomer for ever.

I hate Amigos.

See the last 3 posts dealing with these *** carts to see why.

BTW, if anyone knows who had the bright idea to make these horrible devices, you have my permission to whack 'em on the head with a tack hammer.

Unless it's the guy who decided to put those two fat guys in cowboy hats on those mini bikes. Thats just funny. If it was him he gets a free pass for pretty much anything.

***.

I find this funny to read, because earlier today I was doing a swipe at the service desk and a fat lady yelled at me because we don't provide those Amigo rider cart things. She even told me it was her fault she was in this shape - no handicap, no medical problems or anything.

She yelled at me because she got herself into bad shape. Fat people are the reason we don't provide them. Who's to say that if we did provide them, some fat person wouldn't have already taken it, then we'd still be getting yelled at by you "you need to get some more". Next thing you know, everybody and their dog are riding around on one of these things.

What really annoys me is that it's always the fat person.

A handicapped person will either A.) have their own or B.) ask someone to help them, which we gladly do. I've said it before in the Amigo complaint, everytime I see someone come in that actually needs a wheelchair, I walk right up to them and ask if I can help them get what they need.

I walked around the store (we're a P5, by the way - the biggest in the Menards buildings) for over an hour with this gentleman putting everything in the cart he needed, helping his check out, and even carrying it out to his car for him. If you REALLY need help the next time you come in, don't be afraid to ask for it because one of us will gladly help you in the drop of a hat.

ever consider that maybe the handicapped should provide rider carts for themselves? why should it be the responsibility of the company to do it for somebody?

menards isn't where it is today because it's a poorly-run company. the only thing they're required to do is reasonably accomodate those who may have a physical handicap. nothing more.

you are a sad example at how lazy and needy this country has become. for shame!

to those people making the comments about how *** a person can be for getting the wrong door. Its obvious that your mind is not connected to your mouth.

Have you seen how those doors are packaged? There is no way you can get a look at those doors until they are unpackaged.

Also by the way you talk you must work for Menards and your comments are biased. And what if the person who bought the door didnt install it themselves.

It may have been jus 98 cents but add it up.. We get challenges like these all the time.

If we just GAVE away product we would be in deep! If you get poor guest service thats one thing but understand there will be no free hand outs. As for the "Lowes Gentleman" Way to talk up your store on a complaints forum. Lets look at the numbers for a little while.

Menards is wiping the floor with Lowes and Home Depot. Ive been with Menards for over 5 years and I love my job. I treat every guest with the up most respect no matter how disgruntled they may be. I see to it that my team members do the same!

Maybe its you, Maam that is worrying about 98 cents! You did complain about it on the internet..
