A good friend of mine worked at Menards for about 6 months and liked it, but left because of the lack of a good retirement plan. The 401k is nothing to be desired. If a company really cares about the employees future they would get a top notch plan. Implementing a...

Bought a Mastercraft door from Menards in Sept. 2008 for $800. Paid $400 to have it installed by lic. contractor. It was warped. Big, huge. obvious, gap. It is now March 2009 and all Menards has done is pass the buck-- sent me to deal with the manufacturer myself. I...

I also purchased nearly $5000 in doors, only to have them fall apart after one winter. Menards lifetime warranty is: you're SOL!!

Do Not Buy Mastercraft doors!!!!

I am currently a cashier at Menards. I have never seen such poor customer service by my superiors. For example... It was around 6:50 or so on a Sunday night (keep in mind Menards closes at 7 on sundays) I was helping a guest in my line who wanted to special order...

The comments here amaze me! I've worked at Menards for 14 years.

In the 28 years I worked prior to that I had ok to good managers but never had such fantastic managers as my store manager and department managers! We have very little turn over of employees and they are fantastic about working with schedules for students, family situations, senior workers , etc. Most of our employees seem smiling and helpful all the time (I'll admit, the occassional hire that isn't so good may get too many second chances but they really try to work with people but if negative behavior doesn't change eventually those employees do get asked to leave!) I do the rebates - find at least one almost every month (for 14 years remember!) and have always gotten them back within 4 to 6 weeks - plus you can amil as many as you want in an envelope - best rebates ever and i use to do lots of rebates. I use to compare prices a lot but ours were better so much I don't bother much any more.

Time flies on this job! Maybe some bad things happen in some stores but my Menard store is a fantastic place to be! Don't put down a chain of ... what about 250 stores I think?

... because of your one or two bad experiences! We carry all levels of merchandise ..

high end name brand to cheaper (some people want that too!) and buyers have been known to make a bad buy and we probably feel worse about those items than the customers ... (I know a few we've defected out the whole shipment!)

This happened several yrs. ago but I saw this site and wanted to add this. I was at the Menard's in Cedar Rapids and decided on a Makita drill for my husband after getting help(?) from a salesman in the tools dept.. There was a large sign with the rebate offers for...

Your a dumb ***. If you got a rebate on your receipt that means its still valid. It's not menards fault you took to long to mail it in

Menards in Chicago, Illinois - Sold items that were paid for.

I'm a contractor after calling in my order and paying for it with my card the next day went to pick it up and found out it was sold talked with Vernell and was told it was a hot item and I should of came in sooner. What good is contractors card? It seems like for being a manager he don't care. Wen you complain he takes it out on employees. This man needs to show soom respect to customers and employees or you will lose alot of contractors / customers. There are other places to spend $58,900.00 a year.

We had a good one like this a couple months ago. A guy comes in and asks where the Prepaid area is, so we take him to it.

Myself and another manager spent nearly an hour trying to find this guy's stuff. He can't remember when he bought it, but knows he did. My store's policy is that anything over one month old goes back on the shelf unless the guest asks otherwise. After digging the gentleman to figure out when he bought it (he couldn't remember at first) we found out he bought it OVER A YEAR GO and got mad at us for not having it.

As usual, we said we'd get him another, but it would be x-time before it'd be in. It was resolved by him asking for his money back and saying "This is ridiculous, I'm going to Lowe's or Depot!!!".

He bought it OVER A YEAR BEFORE. What a joke.

Do you see Menards Storage anywhere on their signs or advertising? If you need an item buy it and take it with you.

Menards quit taking prepaid orders over a year ago because of problems like this. People would buy things and think it should be put aside till the day they need it...sometimes 6 months or a year later.

They are not a storage facility for your supplies. Take them or have them delivered...don't expect them to store them for you.

Shopped at an Menards store in Findlay,OH on Jan. 2, 09, between 2-2:30 p.m. We parked at a close spot by the entrance. After we paid for our stuff, I picked up my receipt, which I thought was mine. The cashier's name was Judy. When we left...

My daughter and I purchased some lights right before Christmas that had a price tag of $36, reg. $59.99. Well when I got home and went thru my receipts of purchases for the day I noticed I had been charged $59.99. I called immediately and talked the manager on duty and...

LOL, here is another mope who thinks that Menards will go out of bussiness because an item was priced wrong, (probably not priced wrong, customer just does not no how to interrupt which item is 36 on the end cap or shelf.) If you have a question then ask or you knew the item was $59.00 and you played the game of lets waste everybody’s time because I’m going to argue that I should get that light for 36 because the sign for a different item right next to the item for 59 says 36. Menards can see right through people like you when you say you live 85 miles away from Menards.

It’s customers like you that aggravate employees and customers when you are arguing at the service desk or tieing up a register line because of your low IQ, because you don’t know how to interpret a sign or we have to participate in playing your game. Surprised you knew how to read the big red letters in front of the store that says MENARDS. Surprised you did not call Home Depot to talk to the manager about your little ordeal. O-right that might be 500 miles away.

MOPE!

And right yes you will shop at Home Depot and never come back. Wa Wa Wa Wa!

I have my own scooter that I can use. It is not always convenient to have it with me. I own about 20 rental properties and do several rehab projects amounting to 20,000 to over 100,000 dollars in purchased materials annually. I live 1 1/2 miles from Menards, but will...

not everyone who needs a scooter can afford one like you can, BUT, having problems such as parkinsons or other diseases that affect walking long distances is hard for some folks, even if there were somewhere to rest for a minute would be very helpful at menards
