My Auria flat from Menards I purchased just in 3/2011 went out on me in or around 6/2011. The manufacturer sent a tech w/parts to replace and fix the TV, and instead broke additional parts to the TV trying to fix the original problem. Now they are giving me the run...

I feel bad for you.....I really do. But you bought a TV by Auria.

Auria?? Not the most dependable brand. Buyer beware. I haven't even heard of it.

I hope it gets resolved for you. I work in cab/apps and if anyone ever asks me about the quality of it, I just try to avoid the question and say that its a 55" TV for $600, meaning you get what you pay for.

It sounds to me like she was being the parent you should have been to your boy. Dress to impress is always the way to go for anything job related (until you get the job).

As far as a lawsuit goes, you have nothing more than heresay as evidence...

so if you want to pursue that... good luck.

I would like to say that both my husband and I frequent the Battle Creek Menards for our housing needs and are there just about every weekend for something. On Sunday, August 28, 2011, we found a chair on sale for $159.00. When I found someone to inquire about the...

So the chair was for sale for $159 you say. Okay here we go, I'm going to quote you so you best understand.

"Just because the chair was on clearance doesn't mean a person should pay the same price for the floor model as they would a new one in the box."

Okay, so in this quote we see that you think the sale price of an unadvertised discontinued model is the same as a brand new chair. Well, you're wrong.

That chair is probably retailed at right around $200 MSRP. So if the chair were in stock and WITH A SALE on it would be $179 there abouts. So you're already getting the chair for $20 less than it would be on sale.

First thing to understand here:

It's already being discounted for the reason you're asking them to discount it further.

Second thing to understand:

In order for a store to profit on the sale of merchandise they have to sell it above a certain price. Usually items that are discontinued fall into the category of "cutting it close" already.

So if they are required to make at least a 30% profit on an item that cost 100 dollars to purchase from a manufacturer. They have to sell it for AT LEAST 130 dollars. Obviously making a 100% profit on it would be great. Sometimes the product gets discontinued though, and when it does you have to settle for a 59% (discontinued) profit instead of 100% (no sale) or even the 79% price (sale).

Hope this helps.

Menards rebats short me $50

I just received an in-store rebate from Menards and it was short about $50.00. I went to Menards 6 times in two days in Duluth, Minnesota and was brought back each time due to the rebate program they had going on, but they have cheated me and in the long run they have cheated themselves because I will no longer shop there and I will spread the word to my friends and family. Of course there is no phone number on the rebate certificate and I'm sure they depend on people not following through. Who has time? Well, I will never shop at Menards again. I spen thousands of dollars/year on home improvements between my house and my daughter's house. Home depot and fleet farm have just received my future business.

I believe all rebates have rules. More than likely you didn't follow the rules on it.

I also have hundreds of dollars of rebates. That program has save me tons of money for just stamps!!

You can go online to see your rebate check status. I have never been shorted on a rebate check and I have had hundreds and hundreds of dollars of them.

Menards - Cheap made in China ***.

Power Washer - blew up internaly during 2nd use, I was told to "deal w/the dist." I finally had to ship the unit to them, took seven months to get it back. Cheap tools, Made in China too. I bought one of those large blue traps, grommets missing, holes, no grommets and a tear = *** again and of course, made in China. On the positive side, I found they are now selling U.S. Flags made in the USA, its about *** time. The wood (Pine)is also of very low quality, I now buy at Hm. Depot or Lowes.

Ask Menards when they are going to run their "Made in the PRC" sale instead of the "Made in the USA" sale.

I find the lumber purchased at a real lumber yard to be far superior and sometimes cheaper than at Menards, HD, and especially Lowes.

As others have said you get what you pay for. If you buy the cheap "Tool Shop" made in China tools, you can expect them to be lower quality. However the good news is they have a lifetime warranty, so if you crack a socket or a tape measure stops working you can get a replacement by going to the service desk.

However if you really want quality, you shouldn't be buying those cheap tools. Spend a few bucks more and you will get something that will last. Those tools are what they are - they aren't designed for the contractor who will use them every day, they are designed for the homeowner who needs a tool for a specific purpose but may not use it more than a few times a year.

By the way, the Tool Shop stuff is the same tools you will find at Harbor Freight and Northern Tool and several other stores... they are all made in China and use different names, but the tools are identical. Personally I have used many of their tools and have had very few problems. I broke one tape measure but that was probably my fault - but everything else I have bought does what it was designed to do. They aren't fancy, but when you spend about 75% less than a namebrand tool you can't expect it to be as good as a Snap-On or a Matco.

That is why Menards has their own "Made in America" products. You get what you pay for....

Aaaa...here's a thought. Buy the better product a few spaces away you cheap bung hole!

Every retailer gives you choices for every product. But since you took the cheap way out you got what you paid for!!!!

Oh and by the way. Its the only company that has Made in America Sales! Chew on that for a while

Not sure why you blame Menard's for "made in china" goods----everyone and I mean everyone sells stuff made there. We no longer really manufacture anything anymore, except dopes collecting welfare or illegal aliens getting free health care.

Home Depot and Lowe's both are loaded with goods made in china.

Most everything we buy nowdays is a throwaway. When it breaks, toss it and buy a new one.

there is a dotted line towards the bottom part of your receipt with a rebate number, did you pick up the rebate coupon with the same number? did you mail it in before the last mail in date?

did you correctly and neatly fill in your information?

did you send it correctly to the po box on the coupon? if so you should be receiving it 6-8 weeks from the last mail in date
