Counter tops and doors are made by a Menards owned company, so yes, Menards messed up.

each one of the prefab counters are a mess. Menards recycles pallets and cardboard, and I am

sure uses those to manufacture both products.

How do I figure? We bought countertops and tried to cut them, but the saw got stuck on a certain point, regardless of which direction we tried to cut. Guess what? there was metal in that spot. Guess from nails? What else I found out is that they are all bowed, uneven in measurement. How I know? I used to work for them. And no, I'm not an upset employee, Just a screwed over consumer in this case and found out the hard way. I would never buy anything from Midwest manufacturing, custom craft and such again!

Menards in Chicago, Illinois - Mastercraft doors are JUNK

We spent $3,500 on a fiberglass, double entry door unit. We have had LOTS of problems with this door - rain pouring in, cold air coming in, the decorative glass panels shifting, cracked threshold... Mastercraft is horrible about responding and repairing. They are owned by Menards and Menards could care less about the customer service. There is no way we will ever buy anything expensive from Menard's again. We are getting ready to remodel our kitchen and we won't even consider dealing with Menard's. We remodeled our bathrooms and bought the cabinets from Home Depot. Had a few problems but they took care of it immediately. Bought the tile from Lowe's and had a few problems with that too but they were also great about taking care of the problem. Menard's - you have lost all of our future business!!!

I Just got ripped off by Menards in Mundelein Il. When I returned Interior MasterCraft Doors that would not fit, which the Salesman said these were the doors that you need, I was charged $300 for returning them, What!!!

There is absolutely no Customer Service at Menards, I don't even think that they know the words even exist!

I am also remodeling my home and I'm so thankful that I Did Not Remodel our Kitchen with Menards, it would have been a holy nightmare! Especially after reading all the complaints against Menards, I thank you all for your complaints, you have saved us thousands of dollars by showing us what kind of Rip-off Menards really is!

We went to Home Depot and had them remodel our Kitchen and it was simply Fabulous, the quality of product, Installation, Real Customer Service and Support was Utterly Outstanding! We ended up spending $25,000 for the Kitchen and can't even imagine how much we would have lost if we went with Menards.

We are now in the process of Remodeling the rest of our house and will only deal with Home Depot, period!

All I can say is that dealing with Menards was the most terrible transaction in our life, it just felt like we were dealing with a bunch of Thugs!

So Thanks to all that have posted their experiences with Menards, you really are helping those that are not aware how awful Menards really is!

On 10/01/11 I brought in measurements for 6 closets to a Salesman at Menards 120 Oak Creek Plz., Mundelein, Il. 60060. After going through the measurements, the Salesman recommended a set of 12 6-panel Cherry Wood Doors and said that these were the doors that would...

I got the feeling that reporting to the BBB is probably useless, I think they've become pretty much Irrelevant anyway. But, I did want to post our horrible experience with Menards and hope that it may help others. I had only wished that I searched online for Menards Complaints before dealing with them.

As far as your comment ex-employee, I got the sense that the employees just didn't give a ***, almost like they hated being there!

Well It sounds like most people are going to Home Depot now, and I'm in the process of Remodeling our home and will only deal with Home Depot. They just did our Kitchen and it was Fantastic! Home Depot was simply a pleasure to deal with and the employees at Home Depot understand Customer Service!!

I don't even know how Menards can stay in business, but I think they will eventually go out of business as they continue to alienate their customers.

Home Depot 5 Stars

Menards -0 Stars

See, I'd take you seriously but your grammar, punctuation, and worst of all, your spelling is absolutely atrocious. If you don't know how to spell the word "right" correctly then there are some problems that you need to fix.

An 8 year old knows how to spell "right", "lack", "would", and "which" correctly. If you aren't intelligent to make a sophisticated post that doesn't look like you let a hamster run across your keyboard, then I don't think you're intelligent enough to be building something.

P.S. Who orders things from 240 miles away?

If this reviewer could write in the English language, the review might be understandable.

As a master carpenter, all I could understand is that this reviewer doesn't have any idea how to install a prehung door.

Great for you standing up Diggerodell!!!

I just got ripped-off from Menards for $300 for returning Interior Closet Doors that a Salesperson told me were the correct doors and that they would work.

Well they didn't fit and now I have to pay Menards $300 to take them back because the Salesperson made a mistake...What!

Anyway, I too am in the process of Filling a Complaint with the Better Business Bureau and filed a Chargeback with my Credit Card Company..

Losing the $300 is one thing but to take advantage of their customers and then treat them like *** is another thing.

So, I too will try to fight it out with Menards..

What exactly did you expect them to do? Menards does not make the door, nor do they stock it.

You obviously had a product with a defect that is covered by an manufacturer warranty. They contacted the manufacturer for you (if you had read the warranty this is something you should have done). The manufacturer sent a rep out to your house to inspect the product, determine there was a defect and order the replacement. The replacements are ordered through Jeld-wen's warranty system so Menards has no way to track it in their system.

Your problem is that you don't seem to understand that the warranty on an item is the responsibility of the manufacturer and not the retailer.

Menards directed your problem to the proper people to take care of it and your problem was solved. Hopefully you will at some point in your life learn who to contact to properly solve your problems on your own.
