It will be interesting to see if there is any difference in virus cases between the companies. In my area everyone must wear a mask at Menards but at Home Depot no employees wear a mask and very few customers do either.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was sad to see that Menards is actively working towards the destruction of our country Be a leader not a profiteer. Making money off of ignorant fear is disgusting. People are trying to get back to their lives and you want to scare ppl into buying your masks to enter the store. Corona has proven to be a farce for politicians to steal trillions while "giving" Americans scraps Having any part of that makes the owners of menards evil and despicable.

You don't have to buy a mask from Menards to enter their stores. You just have to wear a mask to shop in their stores.

It could be a mask you purchased elsewhere or made at home. If you don't want to bring one they do have them available for purchase and if you don't want to wear one you are free to shop at other stores.

What do you mean when you say you were sent to a distribution center? Were you going there to pick up a product?

How far was it from the store? Give some detail on what your complaint is about.

Order could not be filled but still charged my Menards card.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My order was on back order and all of a sudden I get an email telling me my Menard card bill was due. I went and checked and sure enough they were charging for my back order that I was still waiting on. I called the store to only be told that order will never be filled because the items are no longer available. It would have been nice to inform me of that before. It took a few complaints and phone calls to finally have the order cancelled. Finally, most of the charges to my card was taken off, but they still charged me 1.48 for processing fees. Used to do a lot of business there, but not sure I will. All they had to do was inform me the items were no longer available.

Email complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Placed an in store/on line order (an employee processed the order, using their system) for an item back on March 25th. I followed up with store I made the purchase at(April 5th), being told they could not find anything associated with the information on my receipt. I was instructed to make contact by going on web site and checking the status. Doing this I had made contact with customer service person, Josh. Received, email few days later how my email was over looked, and would look into issue! Then received yet another email, but the second was incomplete, because Josh didn't pay attention to what he was doing! I'd received email my product was being shipped! Well, checking the status and information, my ordered product was being sent to my address BUT to another city and state! I made contact via telephone (which was a job trying to get live person!), this time a Don/Dan D. I adviced him of the problem of the wrong address issue. He advised would look into it. Checking the status of the shipped product(delivery date was April 25th, it was a Thur), you guessed it, they(who DIDN'T order/pay for product) accepted the delivery! So...I contact again via calling, spoke to a Sarah. She stated she would look into it and keep me updated/posted on what was going on, she stopped approximately four days later and haven't heard anything since! I've sent several other emails, trying to get a status. So at this point, I'm wanting to know where my product is that I ordered, going on almost two months ago, that was paid in full. If this is how Menards conduct business and communication with their customers. Then did they ever think this could be "theft by deception".

I felt quite belittled when I mistakenly filled a cart with groceries at Menards. The young man at the check was less than discrete when announcing my Quest Card would not be accepted. I had my daughter with me and as a father felt ashamed.

As your daughter must be over 16 if you are shopping at Menards now, she should be old enough to understand. It would only make sense to confirm a business accepts your card before you do your shopping.

Poor quality product and service

Menards - Poor quality product and service
Menards - Poor quality product and service - Image 2

Bought a earthquake Versa front tine roto tiller and not even after 20 mins of using the tiller it is blowing fuel out all over my yard from the spacer for the carburetor. I contacted the store I bought it from and they refuse to allow me to return it due to the fact I put fuel and oil in it...

I understand that is policy but really not even a half hour of use... obviously it is a faulty unit and I feel ripped off about having to go 25 miles away to warren mi which is the closest service center to me.

It baffles me that companies cant just do the right thing and service their customers. Ive spent thousands of dollars in supplies and equipment here and will no longer spend another dime here.

Menard's tends to sell these cheap machines. Most big box stores and others will not take it back if you put fluids in it.

Of course, you don't know it has a problem until you do, but common sense is not so common. You will have to go through the manufacturer's warranty system for repair. If they tell you the only place to have it repaired is miles away, then so be it. You are stuck.

I have found that for something like a roto tiller, the best place to buy one is at a local hardware store that has a repair facility, etc. and 'tis best to buy a name brand.

Earthquake brand has never been that reliable in my experience. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it is worth a farthing, as the Brits say.

the local hardware store with service department will assemble the item, test it for proper operation, and show you how to operate it. If the item fails to start out of the box for them or has damage they would swap it out and let their mechanics deal with the defective item.

You also will work with salesman and mechanic who know the equipment offhand knowing whats most dependable, best for your needs and have used the items themselves for their personal yards. At big box stores you deal with some some pimple face millennial who's more focused on his coworker cleavage instead of helping customers.

Unfortunately independent stores are going under left and right due to big box stores selling items for 10 cents cheaper, and thats prior to even considering the covid 19 situation. As you found when you buy a high dollar item at menards they just past the buck to someone else and let the consumer do the work and deal with frustration with an item that has the equivalent of 1.5 miles on the odometer.

Comapny response

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I placed an order on April 24th and realized the delivery was for the incorrect store. Contacted customer service within 2 hours to cancel and reorder. Received an email on 4/26 stating they could not make changes to an order once it had been placed and they had initiated a refund on 1 of the 3 items. The refund was for the smallest amount on the order ($30) and am still waiting to hear on the other two refunds totaling $670.00. I have sent multiple emails for an update but have not heard another world. I am deeply disappointed in how you cannot talk to a live person regarding an issue and how long it is taking to get a refund. This will probably be my one and only online order to Menards.

Mandatory masks

Having to wear masks at their store when you didnt have to for the last six weeks. I will not shop there any longer there are other stores just like theirs that do not require the bullying of having to wear masks that are uncomfortable and dont do any good anyway.

Perhaps you need to blame the state rather than the store. Sounds like Ohio has been flip flopping on whether or not customers are required to wear masks. Were you shopping on a day the state required them?
