According to menards staff that knows me offhand as a regular customer only 30% of the rebate forms printed at the register are eventually redeemed for merchandise. Essentially meaning the house keeps 70% of the printed rebate opportunities. No wonder they play this game forever.

Guest

I think the 11% all the time is the best thing they have done in a long time. I like to shop at Home Depot and they match Menards 11% rebate and you can quickly fill out their form online without mailing anything in.

Menards banning customers under 16 years old!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Menards is taking a very liberal stance that I cannot bring my child into the store who is not 16 years of age even though the basically nobody under the age of 18 is even getting COVID-19. There stance on this is completely not driven out of data and are just trying to control people for now reason. The even hired a security company to control access. Home Depot does it logically by limited the number of people in their store and this is even done by Home Depot employees. Menards days for me are over for good if this continues.

I have been a loyal Menards customer for 30 years, no more. My son with my Grandson went to Menards in Marinette, WI.

"Hey buddy" how old is he? The masks I get, the age thing, who does John Menard think he is?

We all have choices. Use them wisely.

I never received my order

He said he was with another customer right now and he took down the order number. He said he would look it up when he got a chance and call me back. I am so disappointed in the service I am getting. No call back as of yet.

The stores are busy and the customers in the store are going to take priority to the phone. You obviously have access to the internet.

Why wouldn't you simply go to Menards.com and use their order tracker? You'll get the same information there that someone would give you over the phone.

Selling face masks for $1 at front door.

No other retailer in our area is requesting customers wear a face mask unless they are willing to provide one free of charge. In the event a customer doesnt have their own, everyone else is giving them one. Mennards however have security guards at the front door telling people they are not allowed In unless they have a mask and if they dont, they can purchase one for $1. So how much money are you making selling cheap masks that are only worth a few pennies? Are you donating that money to a worthy charity or are you taking financial advantage of a pandemic? Im so interested in knowing what youre doing with the extra money youre taking from people. Im pretty sure a lot of people would like to know and I know a lot of people are considering taking their business elsewhere. I know I am.

You are free to shop wherever you want. If you don't want to bring one from home the $1 price for an individually wrapped mask isn't out of line. As retail starts getting back to normal I'm sure you will see the mask requirement and age limitations go away.

Contact Rebates international. I've sent in many rebates and never had an issue.

Guest

Why do you need to call anyone? If you can post here you obviously have access to the internet.

All you have to do is go to Menards.com and track your rebate there. If this is your first rebate there is a good chance you received it and threw it away thinking it was junk mail.

It comes as a folded post card and you have to look closely to see it is folded. The front is quite plain and the back is an advertisement for one of the products they sell.

Should have been signs everywhere you got the item. Manufacturers require it to go to a certified mechanic to be looked at.

That’s rules the manufacture puts in place for retailers to sell there items. Receipt also states that as well.

Do you need the critical structural 4x4 or will a regular 4x4 do? The critical structural 4x4 is a special order item at many of their stores.

Have you checked with the store? If it is a stock item they can give you an idea of when more stock is due.

I requested to have two orders canceled less than 30 minutes after ordering yesterday. One order was canceled. I got an email today at 12:35pm stating the order had already shipped and I would be charged 25% restock fee for the faucet I requested to have canceled yesterday!!! When you place an order it is instantly transmitted electronically to the vendor of the product. Having worked there I've seen people walk to their car, come back into the store to cancel an order only to find the item in production and too late to cancel.

Yes, the item may have a 2 week lead time but if the order comes in and hits the production cycle at the right time it may be in the store the next morning. The moral to the story is to make sure you are ordering the correct item and that once you order it, realize that you may not be able to cancel the order.

This site is not associated with Menards at all. You’ll need to email if you ordered it online cause that’s how they communicate. Good luck

Max capacity joke and running promotions..isn’t protecting employees or guests.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
As a Menards team member, myself and many others at our store see clearly now that Menards is putting profits above team member and guest safety during Covid 19 (which as a business they can choose to do of course). Running 11% rebates to drive people into the stores. it doesnt make us feel better that they arent advertising in print, they still sent e-mails. This exposes us to large crowds where social distancing is impossible. (On weekends lines are backed up to plumbing). Home Depot and Lowes cancelled their promotions. Saying they lowered the max capacity to 500 to protect us and shoppers is a joke 500?...really. The only time there are ever 500 people in a store is Black Friday. Home Depot lowered capacity to 50. Morale stinks now, and every precautionary step they have taken has been done after every other store did. Im thankful to have a job but It would be nice to feel valued by being more protected. (We have no paid sick leave so I cant just stay home) Thanks John for showing us how important we are.

No one could explain the new “policy”

Apparently no law enacted, but Menards has incorporated a no one under 18 allowed in store.

They aren't allowing anyone under 16 in the store. This is to reduce the amount of people in the store during the pandemic.

You don't need to take the family along to purchase essential items.

You will also have to wear a mask to help prevent the spread of the virus. If you don't like it, turn around and go shop elsewhere.

The under 16 age group is clearly the age group of the public with the "thinnest wallets" therefor menards chooses this age group from their stores. If you were a store owner and had to choose between a customer driving a ford f350 with flatbed trailer with "deep pockets " who wants to buy $3000 of building materials or a 15 year old kid on a bike who wants to buy a rubber beach ball for $1.99 which one would you allow in and which one reject?

As a single father I can’t just leave my 5 year old unattended at home. I needed specific items for a water leak and already tried Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Ave Hardware.

All of which allowed us in the store with our masks without an issue; and all which recommended Menards. So an incorporated rule (not law) prevented us from entering which to me is the same as selective enterance (segregation) and which violates constitutional law.

You could order online for delivery or shipment to your home. You could also have a neighbor or relative watch your child while you ran to the store. You do have options.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1873749

I would never trust relatives nor neighbors watching my kids unattended. I also never let my children go to a friends house unless I meet their friends parents and preform a full background check on the parents.

Too many creeps, pervs, and strange people out there. I also have a doorbell camera with a hidden long distance microphone, 10 cameras outside my property and 13 inside.

People tell me their offended every time I try to invite them over and call me over protective and paranoid but its my right to protect my family and my property by and means necessary from theft, vandalism or anyone considering physically touching my children. If my children go to a big box store, grocery store, or a mall Im going to be within 2 feet of them at all times.

Guest

If you can't trust family or neighbors to watch your child it seems you would be leary of taking them out in public where you never know what you will encounter. Much safer to stay in your bunker and order on-line.

That is what I was thinking, what about single parents? They can't leave their kids alone.

Nor will many people babysit at a time like this. What are they to do?

You have to wonder if part of the problem is consumers failing to properly maintain these heaters. Is it possible this unit drew extra current due to overheating due to inadequate air flow. Just take a look at how plugged the air intake is in the pictures.

Discrimination for health issues

Was denied access to the Freeport IL Menards at approximately 2pm today because I did not wear a mask. Had to wait to speak to the store manager Ken. Was told the Governor law mandates wearing a mask. I cant for health reasons. I observed other employees not wearing properly according to the signs hung. The governor has made an order to wear a mask unless a medical condition applies. How do you propose we move forward? I guess I can shop at at her retail stores. What do you propose? I have been discriminated against.

Since you were told that the Governor of the state this particular Menard’s location requires to wear a face mask, then complain to the Governor

Feel free to shop at other stores if you don't want to wear a mask.
