Menards in Cape Girardeau, Missouri - Paint

The paint deptartment did not put on the lid to my paint and the paint spilled everywhere in my car. It looked like I killed a smurf in my backseat. I have not been contacted and my leather seats are ruined plus two coats. They did make me another batch of paint and gave me paper towel to clean it up myself thanks for the help. The manager never even came and talk to me or apoligize for it happening or refund me for the paint their customer service really Sucks ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

If you don't check to make sure the lid is properly on yourself, you may be lacking in the common sense department.

This same thing happened to me yesterday and the management has no answers on what to do. I have a brand new car and the can got all over the interior and leaked on the exterior of my trunk of my brand new van.

It also got on my clothes and shoes. They returned the paint today after 2 hours of complaining about this. But honestly they should pay for the damages. No member of management even offered a suggestion on who to call to replace my car, and clothes, plus now my driveway at home that the paint leaked all over on.

Anyone know how to get in contact with someone in authority at this company.

I want a reimbursement for the damages caused by there untrained employees. I will not shop at this store again.

Quit going to menards, they are very poor when it comes to customer service. They want your money and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I can't emphasize enough, stay away from menards. lowes or Home Depot treat people much better.

Menards has insurance. If you filled out an incident repot you will get reinbursed for damages.

@Agent

Not if he/she was the main cause of the issue. Only a fool would drive around with out a lid on their paint.

If it was loose that would be another story, however, the OP did not say that. THE OP CLEARLY SAID THERE WAS NO LID.

Anonymous
#606846

Probably not hearing the whole story here. Something caused the can to tip over.

My guess is the paint was siting on the back seat, the brakes were slammed on and the paint can flew off the seat onto the floor where to lid popped off and paint went flying.

If you are going to complain, tell the whole story of how the paint can tipped over. :cry :cry :cry

@Probably...

This is a typical reply from people who work at menards. They are very anti-customer thinking that they only have bad customers, people trying to pull shams and scams.

Why shop at a store that treats everyone like a shoplifter. Go to Lowes.

@elijah

Try working at Menards for a week, see how *** people are that shop there. Also, suggestion Lowes is even more ignorant, they have double the complaints on here than Menards does.

Did you even read the original post? A second grader could have produced a more understandable argument.

I go to Lowe all the time and have never had a problem and they honor military.

Heartless,Are you stoned??? Of course the paint dept is supposed to secure the lid after mixing the paint.(you do pound the lid on prior to shaking it!) Perhaps the "guest" should have placed the can in a box, then placed box on floor the of the car. (To minimize any damage from contents escaping the container

) That being said, any experienced coatings sales person will verify that the the lid is secured prior to giving the container to the customer.

@whipaturd

He clearly said there was no LID AT ALL.........."The paint deptartment did not put on the lid to my paint" THINK ABOUT IT, all I can go on is the poor information he provided. So what is one to think, if he is dumb enough to drive around with out a lid then he got what he deserved.

Anonymous
#606445

So you accept no responsibility for this? You couldn't put the lid on yourself?

You created this problem, not Menards. Why on earth would you just drive around with an open paint can in your back or front seat? I'm going to assume based off your information that you're beyond dvmb, I use a v because if I use a u it will censor it. What I believe to really have happened was Menards employee put the lid on it just was not on securely, however, at some point the consumer must take responsibility and double check everything.

This is the exact reason Menards employees are not allowed to tie anything down for a customer. If in fact it never had a lid and you did nothing about it and proceed to drive around with it like this IT'S 100% YOUR FAULT.

I suprised of the number of people who said they had the same issue. It was UPC code that was incorrect.

If you you are in the middle of ringing up someone there is no way to do anyone else. If you have completed the transaction that is another story. Also it is required by law to take a lunch break after so many hours. I do not work here but at another retail job and many times I end up taking lunch an hour before I am scheduled to clock out.

You cannot have even water at the register.

So you might be griping about someone who has been working 6 or more hours straight without a break. I wish more people understold what goes on in the retail business.

Perhaps I had a call off and was working by myself, perhaps I was explaining to another guest how to bore and mortise a slab door, perhaps I was re-keying a lock for another guest, and so on and so on. Did you, since you are so familiar with Menards (having spent a whole couple thousand dollars), look at the TV screen above my desk?

If you had then you could have lodged a more specific complaint. We do our level best to give EVERY guest sreat service. You each have to realize that for any one of you who complain, hundreds of others have had great experiences and never say a word.

I'm sure Lowe's and Depot will appreciate your money. Have a great day!!!

Menards in Des Moines, Iowa - Online ordering

I ordered a low temperature thermostat on line. It turns out that it does not come from Menards but from another vendor. Deliver date is more than 2 weeks. Ebay is the same price and get it in 2-3 DAYS. Last time for me to use Menard's online ordering. The rest of this is filler so don't bother to read it. When I entered this it said I have to put in 100 words. Why is that? It seems to me that a simple explination of a problem is better. More people are likely to read it. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah--106 words

Why you upset? Ebay and Menards two entirely different animals.

Ebay is designed around web base sales. Menards is based around store sales. Menards offer online shopping to stay competitive and most every thing ships free to the store. You can go into Menards and special order items it's almost always at least 1 week if not 2 or 3 weeks.

Menards ships in bulk to save on cost. Ebay ships based on the person selling the item...... and normally 1 item at a time.

Two different types of business's not even comparable. Only a fool/tool would get upset about this.

Third party vendor and they tell that upfront. Ebay and Menards is NOT the same thing, and they do NOT guarantee 2-3 day shipping.

Besides, shipping is NOT delivery. It means they will SHIP it in 2-3 days, NOT that you GET it in 2-3 days.

As an employee at menards can I ask a question. Did you track your rebate on menards.com?

If not try that. You do not need a tracking number just need to know your name and address. After you check to see if it was sent then you can inquire further online. If it says it was sent it will tell you what day it was sent.

If it was sent a few weeks ago then well there is a section that you can ask about it. They cqn either put a stop to that one and send you another one or check further into it.

I am sorry the store you went to didn't explain this and hopefully this helps if you listen. But like most " guests " who are pissed you probably won't and still complain about poor service that you didn't get

Unless they advertise that they take another store's coupons, it was very ballsy of you to demand that they do so. And to go on the internet and complain that one store will not take another store's discount is ridiculous.

To all of you claiming "their just doing their job" or blame Direct TV and not Menard's: First off let me say that I love the employees at Menard's. They are always courteous and never harass or try to sell me stuff; they simply ask if I need help or if I'm finding everything I need.

I'm totally fine with that. But saying Menard's has nothing to do with it is ridiculous. They are the ones allowing reps for Direct TV to set up shop in their stores and harass customers. If I want Direct TV I can simply call their 1-800 number, so them being in stores in unnecessary.

I respect the fact that the reps for Direct Tv have jobs and aren't living on welfare but *** people off is no way to do business.

And they all think that they're the first ones to approach me about it.

If they want to be in stores they should set up a designated area so if we're interested, WE can approach THEM. Following customers around the store is just the wrong way to do it.
