Went to purchase a patio set. It took 75 mins. for someone to find the table for the set. These people are a joke. After 30 mins. the employees got the manager. He wasn't any help either. How can you not know where your inventory is located? The manager's comment...

1st visit to a Menards store but you seem to know John Menard and have a negative opinion. Sounds like a bogus complaint to me.

Be happy your getting anything at all. It could have gone on sale 3 weeks later, and then you would have been really mad because you would have gotten zilch.

After reading the original posting and then reading the "***' reply I only have a few things to say to "***"
1. Dumb *** is two words
2. The Store Manager, Mitch Hoover should have explained to the employee the policies that apply as should any good (not great) manager would...does the store lack a human resource person or does this person not know policy
3. The "dumb ***' reply appears to be a Corporate Raider trying to make Mitch Hoover look good, he can not look good because he lacked the human compassion in this situation.

HEY MENARD'S WITH MANAGERS LIKE MITCH AROUND WHY NOT LOOK INTO A UNION< THEY PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS AND HELP WITH POLICY COMPLIANCE

ANY QUESTIONS COME TO MEIJERS AND WE CAN SHARE HOW TO UNIONIZE

LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING YOUR STORY WITH THE WORLD WIDE WEB

GOD BLESS JOHNNY MENARD AND FAMILY

I ordered a refrigerator on-line, however, I did go in the store and talk with a sales person. They misinformed me about getting a rebate and 12 mo financing together( I found out later it is one or the other.) They say delivery is $49.99 and they don't tell you that...

So what exactly was your problem? It seems to me that the only problem was that you didnt read over the fine print.

Of course you should always do that.

Also, Menardsdoes have many products must be special odered if you want a certain color. Dont get mad because they didn't have exactly what you wanted.

I purchased two Tru Bolt locks from Menards. These are simple security or locker type locks opened with a key. The two locks also have a battery inside with an audible alarm that activates when the lock is moved ever so slightly. I purchased the two locks in September...

tumblers for keyed locks can start to catch after only a couple year's use. inside key was stuck and my wife twisted it off; I tried the outside keyway - stuck.

Had to tear out the tumbler. To trulocks' benefit, it was very difficult and if I didn't have access to the inside and outside, I may have not been successful. To the guy above - did you secure the tumblers with the little set screws that should have been included? They are tuff and took a lot of abuse before I could rip them out of the door (little set screws still didn't break)

Menards in Baraboo, Wisconsin - Didn't receive the help i needed

on friday june 14 i visited you baraboo wi store. i was looking for some landscaping bricks. i went to the garden center, the first lady didn't know about them, but she took me to the ordering counter. the man went with me and i told him i needed more bricks then were on the bottom shelf. there was a pallet on the 2nd shelf, he called an employee to get them down for me, that employee never came although i heard him say on the walkie-talkie, he'd be right there. i waited for 10 minutes and finally opened up the pallet and got them down myself.

I do think that if you were capable of getting the bricks yourself, you should've done so. It's just silly to sit around and wait for someone to help you with something that's right in front of your face.

On the flip side, if these bricks were that easy to get, the gentleman that took you out to look at the bricks should've just stayed and helped you load them up before he went on his way. Remarkable how five extra minutes would've save this ridiculous headache.

Here's what really happened. Garden center team members wouldn't know much about them it's not their department, they belong to the Hardware Department 200.

The landscape block belongs to department 100 Building Materials. Now the guy went out there and radioed a fork lift driver who said he would be right over, but when he was on his way over someone else caught him quickly then probably someone else and after all that happened he totally forgot about the bricks.... THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. You can't ignore the people who stop you on the way to where you're going to help and if it's busy enough you will forget about the initial objective.

Fortunate enough you WERE CAPABLE OF GETTING THE BRICKS YOU NEEDED WITHOUT ANY HELP, THANKS FOR TAKING THE INITIATIVE! OH WAIT, you waited around forever for something you were capable of doing to being with in the first place......

@Heartless

The guest shouldn't have to get blocks down by them self. It's dangerous.

If one of those blocks were to fall and brake a foot, that would be bad for everyone. The gets busy, the guest should be aware of that and please be patient.

Menards in Green Bay, Wisconsin - Very slow "express" lane/inconsiderate clerk/rude customer

I was spending all of $1.98 for a single item at Menards Green Bay East. A guy got to the Express Lane just ahead of me with 12 items (clearly stated limit is six items). He sat on the counter and proceeded to have a conversation with the clerk, Amber. Obviously it was not questions about his purchases - just chit chat with someone he knew. I tried to be patient. I checked the other registers, but they were backed up. She started to check out his items but would pause every so often to chat. Even after he paid, she continued to chat with him. I finally interrupted this, saying, "Isn't this supposed to be an express lane? Can I get checked out?" She turns to me disapprovingly and slowly proceeds to check the one item. He speaks up and asks what my problem is. I inform him of the six item limit. He looks at my red shirt and says it matches my face. I request to speak to a manager. Amber says nothing, but continues to diss me. I pay. She asks if I still want to speak to a manager. I say no. I will never return to a Menards. My uncle in Eau Claire knows Mr. Menard, and he will hear about this.

If this is true you shouldn't be very angry with the cashier she was put in a awkward situation. She cant refuse to check someone out because they're ignorant of what the lane limit says. As far as the customer who was rude to you, ha we get treated like that all the time by the people who shop at Menards.

Where's the fire? You must of been in a big hurry.

Why would you get mad at menards? The other person was the ***

@Anonymous

Sounds like the "customer" was amber's boyfriend, relative or co worker and she was giving him special treatment above how the general public is treated. The customer posting here called out their social discussion and the "customer" got mad at the snitch.

Menards in Torrance, California - Not Supervisor Material

I could go on and on about the things I have learned about Menards since my wife started working there but it would take hours But just recently she was called trailer trash by one supervisor and bipolar by another and they get away with this stuff all the time. It may be time to talk to a lawyer. This is an example of the kind of people they promote within the company. they are not even close to professional. They yell at other employees in the middle of the store in front of other employees and guest's. I don't know if it is like this at other stores, I hope not. They also like to enforce company rules when it fits into there mood for the day.

It's like that at my store. Management will use company wide policy's against people they don't like.

Then when it's an A$$KlSSER they will just ignore it. The head GM is a total tool. He does not stand behind his team members and will throw them under the bus to make himself look better.

All he does all day is sit at his desk or BS with female employees. He knows nothing about what we sell and does as little as possible.
