I paid for my $6.95 worth of merchandise at the Lima, Ohio Eastown Store with a crisp $20.00 to Cynthia who put the cash in the drawer then proceeded to give me change based off the amount she put in at $10. I very quickly proceeded to tell her that I gave her a $20...

Being polite can go a long way. Not sure why they wouldn't have counted the drawer or looked at the video tape.

Not sure why you didn't calm down and ask them later to do just that. Sometimes we let our anger get the best of us.

Menards in La Crosse, Wisconsin - I'm Pissed!

I was trying to buy a *** wacker by mtd, they had one left on the shelf the box was badly damaged so I went to a department person and asked them to show me what it looked like and when they pulled it out of the box the two end that attach one was bent badly. I asked that is not supposed to be that way so would they take some money off the price, and he told me that it's suppose to be that way and they would not take any money off! So I got mad pulled the display model off and said that's *** and told him they could still take money off the display model and put the damaged one from the box on the shelf and they still told me know! *** you menards I will never return

You're acting like Menards forced you to buy something that was broke... What are you PlSSED about really?

Does life keep beating you down? The reason Menards said no is because they can defect the unit out and not lose any money at all. Had they discounted it to you they would have lost money....

Before you get so angry about nothing you should take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

Visited Menards for the first time today. I found items with no price and no one around to help. I walked up front to the checkout to ask for help with prices. Waited about 10 min. for someone to show up who did not know the price of what I was looking at. He said he...

Menards in Warsaw, Indiana - Garage door bent & wrong parts

I purchased new garage door along with 2000 dollars of other lumber and it took them over an hour to find a complete door and hardware. I told the manager that I think I have the wrong parts but he said he knows what he was doing because he does it daily. I drove 57 miles to get there so I wanted to make sure I had everything before leaving. Well sure enough the door was not only bent from the banding from packing but I had the wrong struts that are to strengthen the entire door. I called the store and was told that I bought the last one but I could drive to another store 50 more miles farther and get the parts I needed. Meanwhile I had already taken down my door and got it hauled away. The manager told me he was not responsible so I could return it but that's all he could do. MENARDS is the worst in customer service. They advertise a low price but the low advertised price usually comes after you mail in a rebate and then you get a check that only can be redeemed at Menards. I spent 3000 dollars this weekend and can't get a reasonable effort from their employees to even make this right. Jerry

I always find it comical when people have to say how much they spent. Is 3000 dollars alot to us?

Yeah most likely but menards deals with contractors that would drop 20k easy every day in every store. So really 3k really means very very little to them.

I'm calling *** on this one, mostly because all major appliances, even the small chest freezers come with a 1 year manufacturers warranty that covers up to $100 worth of food. And they can get nicer freezers, you just were an *** for buying a *** one

We bought three different items when three different rebates were being offered. Our rebate total should be around $250. When I emailed the rebate dept, since they have no phone number and people at the store won't give you one, they responded and said that they have...

Just maybe they should give you the rebate the day you make the purchase right there at the C.S. counter.

It is unfortunate that Menards will assume you read all the fine print first, and then give you the impression they will stand behind their gas motor products. Just about any smaller hardware like TrueValue will start it for you before you even buy it, and then help you if you have any problems.

They don't just ignore you, pass you off to someone else, tell you what they should have before selling it to you, throw comments such as "I answer to nobody" or come to these consumer sites after to try and make you look like the problem. Menards is a joke, and so are the ones who come here to smear your complaint.

Obviously, we learn some things the hard way. Next time buy from your local small hardware store where they know how to treat their customers.

I already added the information before I saw the update thing; it is below.

One point, the site continually indicates that I am from Sun Prairie, Wis when I am from Mauston, Wis. not Sun Prairie.

This is the second try bolt keyless lock I have had. The first one the wiring shorted out within two weeks.

We got a second on and now within the month if installing when you put it the code it won’t lock or unlock. You here the mechanism running but nothing happens.

This person either works for Menard's or is a corporate apologist. This lack of customer service and blind support of billion dollar companies is what the world has come to. This is what we get when the *** Facebook generation gets into the work world.

As a former employee of Menard's with no axe to grind whatsoever, I can unequivocally state that they are a horrible company to work for. They are very, very aware of their size and how much money they pull in and this equates to an unbelievable air or arrogance by Manager's that are more than happy to make your life miserable as an employee.

Want to climb that so-called Corporate ladder here? Then prepare to be a back-stabbing weasel with sickening levels of entitlement, and have little concept of even the idea of common sense in treating Customer's like priority #1 as they should be--contrary to the ridiculous signs everywhere about so-called Customer Service at Menard's. The turn-over rate at this particular location even though it only opened a few months ago is just unbelievable. So do yourself a favor if one of your loved ones is considering applying at a Menard's--talk them out of it.

They'll be worked like dogs and talked to like one. They'll be much, much better off someplace else. Trust me.

I know. And really wish I didn't :sigh .
