Menards doesn’t refund their rebates!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased home repair items for the past ten years. I found they dont reward their rebates especially big rebate amounts. For example, I sent two rebates that were $80 and $40 random they never sent either of them. This is a grand scam to defraud the public.

I've never had a problem with their rebates. What did you do when you didn't receive your rebates?

Did you track them?

What was the result? Be proactive, seek a solution to the problem rather than just complaining about it.

Terrible public communication

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On a rather hot day in Sedalia, Mo parked my vehicle a quarter mile away from the entrance get up there and find out I have to wear a mask. No where on this date is any business in Sedalia REQUIRING a mask. Then they wanted to sell me one. Then I was told just a shirt over my face would work. I went to purchase TWO expensive deep freezers but simply turned and left and went to LOWES and ordered them there. Awful communication and frankly awful to require something that is not a legal mandate. Wont be coming back! I will just shop for things like they sell at Meynards on line.... just at LOWES and HOME DEPOT.

Preferred solution: Do not require masks! Allow people to make that decision for themselves as we have done right up until the present time in this country.

How close did you park to the doors at Lowes? The full parking lot at Menards tells you that there are plenty of people shopping in their store that understand wearing masks help prevent the spread of the virus. They won't miss the few of you that don't want to wear one.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Starting May 2020, I have not received any of my rebates over 5.00, and only 1 or 2 of those, I usually send in at least 2 or 3 a week , my husband is a contractor and some of our rebates can be large amounts. I wonder if my mail carrier is delivering them?. May you guys should ck. Your mailing packageing.

Have you tried tracking your rebates? It looks to me like they have fallen drastically behind in processing the rebates.

I expect the problem is the huge volume of requests they are getting by running the 11% week after week. Fortunately Home Depot matches their rebate and uses a quick on-line process for filing the rebate.

I have received 4 Home Depot rebates since the virus started and Menards is just now mailing the rebates I have sent to them. Just think how much time and money Menards could save if they processed their rebates on-line rather than having someone open them all and manually enter them at their office.

Missing Items

I ordered 2 items from Menards.com and only received 1. The order shows delivered and complete on Fedex.com and Menards.com. I have filed 3 customer service requests and have not gotten a response. Customer service does not have a published way to call them. What a joke, I am never doing business with them again.

You need to contact Fed Ex to find out what happened to your other item. If it shows 2 items delivered then they’re responsible, not Menards.

Patheic customer support

I purchase an expensive items and the receipt was not received by me. However I have wasted a lot of time obtaining a copy of my receipt so that I can get the rebate. This is the most pathetic customer support. I tried emailing and calling but of no help. I have decided never to purchase anything from menards and would rather go to Lowes or HD who have better customer service... Rating '0' pathetic customer service.

The receipt comes out right next to where you bag your products. Not their fault you didn't take it.

Damaged and unshipped order, no response from company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We ordered some shelving recently. The shelves arrived horribly packed and every board was damaged.

The brackets never did ship. We have tried their return form, contact form, and Facebook page for weeks and have yet to hear a word back from them. Their customer service is HORRIBLE for online buyers!

We're now faced with getting our credit card involved to make this right. To add insult to injury, we were charged over $50 for shipping to only have half of the order shipped, and what did arrive was badly damaged.

Living in Iowa where there are plenty of Menards stores it doesn't make sense to order on-line and have a product shipped to you home. Buy it in the store and take it home if it is a stock item.

If it is special order have it shipped to the store. No need to pay their high shipping charges for on-line orders not to mention you can't talk to a human if you have a problem.

Or just skip menards altogether and purchase from online vendor who cares about customer service. Menards just str0kes you all day with processing fees, shipping fee, packing fee, return fee Etc, then tells you to talk to the hand when your item arrives damaged due to p1ss poor packing.

Rebate Processing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Submitted rebate totaling over $300 over 6 weeks ago. When I try and track, it says it has not been entered yet. Sent email to Rebate Center as there was no phone number to call and did not get a response. This process is a joke, reminds me of the Green Stamp program my mother did. Should give rebates at the register or allow uploading/fax information or send rebate by email - there a number of ways to make this process less cumbersome. It appears they just want to advertise the 11% but not honor it.

Menards Sucks (RIP OFF)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We havent gotten back 1 rebate after renovating 4 homes. Could they make the process of inquiries any more difficult? How about a 1-800 # and checking a credit card ? Wouldnt you think that would be easy to do ? Menards is the biggest rip-off out there. They steal millions doing this. Were giving all are business to Lowes, who offers a automatic 10% discount to all veterans. Menards doesnt even acknowledge veterans in any way. Menards Sucks *** !!!

It's easy to check the status of your rebate at Menards.com. Have you thrown all your rebates away thinking the postcards they come in are junk mail?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
wth.... my husband went to Menards and spend over a thousand dollars and there was no one to help him load his steal sheets that were 12 feet long. He had to load all his merchandise by him self not to mention the yard area was a disaster, lumber everywhere he had a hard time getting to the steel sheets because of it being a disaster. Why would you put the 12 foot sheets of steel on the very bottom of the bin where it is stored....again nobody to help him. That is bs if a person spends that much money there should have been someone to help him. Needless to say that the Menards in Brainerd is a total screwed up mess. Maybe consider getting more imployees that are willing to do their jobs. Your prices are outragious and then to add insult to injury he had to load it all him self.. ALso he got lumber and had to pick threw all of your *** pieces just to find some that would work. I look forward to read your response. Thanks You Barb Gravett

I take it you aren't aware of the toll the covid virus has taken on stores like Menards. They are much busier than usual and working with fewer employees than normal.

My local store was short 40 employees and yes there were huge help wanted signs out as well. Sure, there are a lot of minimum wage workers out there without jobs but when the government is giving them a $600 a week bonus with their unemployment check who wants to do heavy lifting in a lumber yard.

Keep in mind that Menards is a self service lumber yard, not a full service store. If it's service you want you could have gone to a full service yard where they would have loaded the steel for you but you would have paid more for the steel as the full service yards have higher labor expenses to cover.

Poor customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am in the process of remodeling a house for a customer. Currently have spent ocer $4000 with menards and the remodel isnt finished. The lady wanted an almond color paint. The first paint they sent with me ended up looking neon. After taking the time to return it and flooding out on that pay for my time they sent me with another. This time it looked like baby *** yellow. After returning that they finally was able to get it right on the last batch. Ended up they kept using the wrong base. The same lady that sent me with the first neon color is also the same one who sent me with 2 gallons of white. I tried to use the white today and it was real runny and dried clear..tooke it back and here she sent me with a can of base. Was not white.. The guy back in paint said this isn't the first time this has happened with her. So after 5 trips now back to have the same original purchase fixed and 5 times of unpaid work plus gas and travel the gm said he will reimburse $20 in in-store credit are you kidding. It cost way more than that in just gas for their mistakes not including my loss of paid work time.. $20 to shop at a store that can't get an order right the first time let alone the fifth. And the number they gave to contact is a joke. How hard it is to talk to a representative. Very upset and disappointed

For 1 they dip out of 1 can and place the same color from the first cans on top of all the cans I learnt that the last time I was there. Everytime they were busy so it was a wait for the paint so I did the rest of my shopping.

And 2 under their light it looked correct until it was taken back to the house. Ever the head of the paint dept said that It can happen when they use the wrong base.

This is all employee error. If they learned how to do their jobs instead of joking and playing around and being on their phones then maybe they would be able to do something right

Guest

I've never had paint mixed in any store where they didn't dip a bit out of the can to compare to the sample chip. Why didn't you have that done?

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1872445

Why can't they just hire staff that's motivated and dependable?? having an employee who is so unwilling to learn, follow training and unknowledgeable that she mixes wrong paint over and over and known to constantly p.... off customers clearly is a liability for the business and needs to be terminated.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1872599

Yes, they should know what they are doing but you wouldn't have made 5 trips if you confirmed the mix was correct before you left. It's the old fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame me story, really shouldn't have let them fool you so many times.

How long ago did you send it? Since they have been running the 11% rebate non stop it's been taking 2-3 months to see the rebates come.

I expect they have mountains of rebates to process.

They should either get smart and let customers enter rebates on line rather than mailing them in and having someone enter them in their offices. Better yet, just drop their prices.
