It just happened to me at the menards I have been shopping at for years, surrounded by cops frisked and then my pockets went through right in the middle of the store in full view of the other shoppers the whole time they kept saying where was the stuff I stole after they realized I was innocent they (the cops ) apologized the menards guy just kept smiling just as he had been doing through all of it, and the other poster is right it’s not about skin color. I’m a 54 year old white married father of two factory worker you can’t get more white bread than that.

Laws and regulations set forth by FMCSA, and the new CSA regulations need to be abided by from Menards.

Menards is by far the worst company I have seen, in regards to following the laws set forth by the FMCSA, and many of the drivers I have met are no better. The loads are not built properly, nor are they hauled in compliance. As a driver myself, I have had to force the Menards I deliver for, to change their practices, or I refused to make the delivery. It is a battle every day, to keep Menards in compliance. We drivers are the ones who will pay the price, if you don't keep a proper log book (and yes you do have to keep a short haul log book, in Michigan anyhow), it is now a $1,000.00 fine. No operating authority, or hauling outside the scope of your authority, more than twice that cost. Heads up, CSA is cracking down on us, and Menards will not pay your fines, they will simply replace you when you are placed out of business. Read the FMCSA book on how to properly load and secure loads, and keep yourself out of trouble. You will learn how illegal Menards loads really are.

As a Contract Hauler for Menards, you are responsible for how the truck is loaded and secured. This is listed in your Contract Hauler Agreement.

The loaders of the trucks are not trained in what over-the-road laws are because they don't drive over the road, you do. Please take the time to work with the truck loaders at your store as to YOUR expectations of YOUR truck. Once the load leaves Menards, it is YOUR responsibility.

As for Menards being "by far the worst company I have seen, in regards to following the laws set forth by the FMCSA," if the law isn't being followed, it is because you are allowing your truck and trailer to break them. Don't blame everyone else because of rules you are supposed to follow.

@justice1982

Yes you are correct except as stated by a DOT officer to Menards, they are still responsible, and can be held liable by law. Their employees need to be trained how to properly build loads/load trucks.

It makes it easier on all to do this properly, from the start, instead of wasting everybody's time to redo the loads that should have been done right in the first place. Seeing that the driver is responsible, than work with the driver, instead of butting heads. The fines the driver gets are excessive, yes the driver, not Menards. Menards cares more about the money the managers can put in their pockets from bonuses than they are about public saftey, and doing the job right.

OH YEAH, we forgot about the service to the customer Menards is so proud to advertise, but not to live up to. :eek

Menards in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Twinkling LED Tree Lights are a Total Rip-Off

Last year I purchased a twin pack of LED "Stay On" tree lights (total of 360 lights) from Sams Club for $22.95. Wanting a little sparkle, I purchased 2 boxes of "Twinkling" LED Tree Lights (70 lights per box) from Menards (the exclusive distributor of those lights) for $14.95 per box. This year when I setup the tree I discovered that only 15 of the 70 LED bulbs actually twinkled. According to the Menards' Customer Service that is exactly how many LED lights are supposed to Twinkle. Nowhere on the box does it indicate that 55 LED lights will Stay On while only 15 will Twinkle. Either it was deceptive marketing or fraud. There is only 1 item I will continue to purchase from Menards, otherwise the rest of my business will go elsewhere.

Menards in Sandusky, Ohio - Employee was rude

Went in to get a christmas tree and had to ask 3 times for someone to call for help and when someone finally showed up he just threw the box in the cart. When I made the comment that the box was torn and had a huge hole in it the employee was already gone. WILL NOT be treated like I was a big bother. I had to wait around for around half hour. There was all these employees walking around but even after they were called to the area no one would stop and help. I used to really like the store but having second thoughts.

Did you try asking of these employees you saw walking around? Sounds like you just stood there and expected something to happen.

The fake trees are not that big or heavy in the time you waited I can assure you could have loaded it yourself :eek . It's amazing how long people will stand around and do nothing cause they're to lazy to do it themselves. As far as the hole in the box goes you should inspect all of Menards Christmas tree boxes at least half of them have *** like that already if not more.

I know I've stocked and sold them for years.

Finally if your expect help be patient and respectful to the people trying to help you. I'm sure you came across as a self centered BlTCH and no one wants to deal with that.

It's funny you want to blame Menards and then claim even the manufacture thinks its a ***** policy. The manufacture made that piece of junk your trying to return.

If it goes back to the store who do you think pays for it? Menards or the manufacture? IT'S THE MANUFACTURE. 99% of all the manufactures in USA want you to contact them if their is a problem, not the store that sold you the unit.

Be angry with the company that made the unit, not the company that's trying to protect their interest. The return policy is also stated on your receipt :) if your were a responsible consumer you would have read your receipt before the 7 days was up :).

Menards in Middleville, Michigan - Purchased a junk Generator

Generator was junk, tried to use was not able to it has been less than a week and they will not take the item back. Tell me it is my problem. I am starting here to warn all customers not to deal with Menards. My next step is the better buniness bureau. Buyer beware it you purchase junk item you are on your own. Missing parts which I was not aware ot at the time of purchase until I got it home. Contacted Menards in Ionia Michigan. I was told tough. Would not resolve the issue. Highly recommend to all consumers do not shop at Menards.

Welcome to the bend over your at menards club! Doesn't suprise me one bit about the inferior quality they sell at menards.

Want to tell you to see the store manager but you probably know it would do no good anyway. you echo my experience with menards and the best thing to do is shop Lowes or Home Depot, at least they will treat you with respect.

Just follow the manufactures repair procedure and take it to an authorized repair shop and have it fixed under warranty. This will be done at no charge unless you failed to follow the instructions.

Failure to put oil in the engine or using stale fuel would be your responsibility and you would be charged for repair.

It's just like buying a car. The warranty on the generator calls for repair of the product, not replacement.

You are very misleading with your complaint. You should at the very least state what Menards told you, not twist their words! This is what Menards really told you!

(ALL PUSH GAS POWERED EQUIPMENT ONCE GAS IS PUT INTO IT CANNOT BE RETURNED TO THE STORE IT MUST BE TAKEN TO A REPAIR CENTER. IT WILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS LONG AS YOU DID NOT CAUSE AND IT IS NOT A WEAR ITEM.) They more than likely also told you to contact the manufacture if you're missing pieces. The manufacture will ship them out to you at no cost most the time.

This return policy is a manufactures recommendation for Menards. It is also listed on your receipt and all over the area by the gas powered equipment. Menards employees are not qualified to asset if gas powered equipment have been abused that is why it must go to a repair center.

Menards has had manufactures walk away from them because of them taking to many returns on items that really had no issue to begin with besides a clueless consumer who jacked up their stuff.

As far as the BBB goes, lol :grin . They have no power.

Hey oberto0, last night I hid sale items for myself and family members. I then cussed out guests, and played hide and seek to avoid helping them. I'm so unprofessional, you should write a comment to commend me of my "service" and "dedication" to guests.

HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR COMPLAINT

DO WHAT YOU SAID AT THE END OF IT, BECAUSE MENARDS WILL ONLY GET WORSE OVER TIME. THE EMPLOYEES DON'T WANT TO WORK HARD FOR THEIR MONEY. THEY JUST WANT TO BE PAID FOR AS LITTLE WORK AS POSSIBLE.

SO, GO TO LOWE'S OR SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR A MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. HEATLESS KNOWS THIS BECAUSE HE WORKS FOR MENARDS.

your right! lazy is being kind though.

Rejects seems to be a better word.

The management at menards is so incompetent, this is the way they train the employees. just be thankful you didn't have to deal with the store manager, then your experience would reach a whole new level.

Lazy? You clearly saw them helping someone else and call that lazy..

Typical Menards Customer. You think your number 1!

Your the best! You should get priority over everyone else!

Lowes has double the complaints that Menards does on here, but you can give them your money if you really want.

Why was the first thing you did was to post a complaint here? You could have saved the wasted time, gone to Menards and found that they took care of your problem. It seems odd that people have to complain when they have nothing to complain about.
