Chose $500 in Patriot lights during their Feb sale. At the checkout we were charged the regular price listed on the shelf. When we challenged the sale price, the supervisor at the O'Fallon, IL store insisted the price we were charged was the sale price. Menards is...

I have been shopping at Menards for a long time now. Make sure you look at the sign.

It will tell you that the tags reflect the sale price.

Don't worry I made the same mistake. I felt pretty *** when I realized the answer was right in front of my face all along!

Menards in Niles, Illinois - Sale price does not ring in at cashier

not the first time either...i get the to cashier and if i didnt pay attention i would have been charged 200 dollars instead of 150 for a fan! insane! 50 dollars more! took 10 minutes for someone to find the fan and my husband had to go with him. the whole time i am standing at the cashier with two small children. all the sudden the cashier looks at me and tells me i owe 189 total. i looked and her and had no clue she was talking to me. all the sudden i realized she was talking to me. i asked her about the lamp. she said yes i got the sale deal. like it was a reward due to my diligence. unreal. i paid and swore i will never be back at that store.

oooh excellent post Anonymous. Agreed, every person should work retail just to see how it really is.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Probably wasn't her money, is was probably her husband's. :upset

Im slowly starting to like your posts Anonymous 8)

What more than likely happened here is that they were putting up the sale that will be in tomorrows paper. It can take several hours to put up all the sale prices and yes it starts before the store closes.

Be happy you got the sale price today rather than having to come back for a price adjustment tomorrow.

You also got to double dip as you not only got the sale price but the 11% rebate as well. You should try working retail for a month or two and perhaps your attitude would change.

Today I confirmed why I closed my credit card with Menards years ago and only go there when I have no other choice. I purchased an item tagged at $9.99 and was charged $12.99. When I noticed the receipt, I spoke to the customer service person. She sent someone to...

Actually, considering that Home Depot and Lowe's is nation wide while Menards is only in a handful of states Menards ranks consistently well statistically.

Menards in Saint Paul, Minnesota - Found what I needed more cheaply.

I went to Home Depot and Lowes to get the kit for stacking my washer and dryer. Not in stock at Lowes and $29.99. Special order at Home Depot and I was told no one stocks them. Menards had it in stock for $20.99. I promised myself that, if I found it at Menards, I would write a positive comment about Menards. extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words extra words

This is the biggest lie ever. It is so obvious that you are some worker for the store trying to make Menards sound like a good place to shop.

You couldn't be more wrong. AND, you don't come on a "complaint" site to try and lie about good service.

Taking the customer to the product is basic retail 101, Kevin Richards. I've never been too busy to do that.

Pointing is not just rude, but also makes a customer feel that you don't appreciate their business. If I'm helping another customer I briefly tell them that I will be happy to "Show" them where the product is as soon as I finish with the other customer. Whenever I get a "Pointer" when I'm spending my hard earned money in another retail store I ask them to take me to the product.

That only *** off the truly selfish or lazy person while it is a lesson learned by an employee who has the desire to grow.

My guess is the reason this happened is because there is a requirement for the rebate that you must buy so much of the flooring to be eligible. For example, if the rebate required that you buy 100 sqft when she rang it up in 2 separate transactions the system only showed that 50 sqft was purchased per transaction and wouldn't create a rebate receipt, as the register has no way of knowing both transactions were yours.

The cashier has the ability to (and should have) ring up one transaction and split the payment itself between both cards. If you take both of your receipts into the Service Desk they should easily be able to combine the two transactions for you so you can get your rebate.

There shouldn't even be any issues with your cards delaying credit back because it's just a matter of transferring the funds between your transactions and the new combined transaction. Hope this helps and please give us another try.

Well I see our incompetent clueless is back at it. I am not surprised with the typical menards service talked about here, sounds pretty common for menards.

I wish people would wise up and shop somewhere other than menards. All you have to do is read what this menards employee clueless writes and you can see how you will be treated in the store. My hard earned money does not go to menards anymore, even if I have to spend more I will shop elsewhere.

The customer service at menards is a joke. Try Lowes or Home Depot, they do treat their customers with respect not disdain.

I see I need to change my name altogether now because you losers keep pretending to be me. But no one can be me Like I am.

I have the tattoos to prove it to. Just come in to my store in Green Bay and I'll show you. I would be a manager by now, but I don't want to be because they have to put up with too much carp from all you idiots out there.

Ya, that's right I said "carp" because I love fishing too. So stop all your whining and go somewhere's else if'n you don't like it.
