You are incorrect about the double tax. That is simply not true.

If you contact the rebate company, they will fix it. I've done this a dozen times for customers in mhy store and the rebate company makes it right 100% of the time.

Menards - Review about Receipt Mistakes from Morrow, Ohio

I had a problem with items on my receipt not matching my actual purchase. I asked to speak to store manager of woodstock store (jason). He did not care to help me and barely made eye contact with me while trying to explain ripping me off. His explanations didn't even make sense. Then he changed his story several times. management to date.

Really guys? The competency tests ask *** like: what's the square footage of a 12x10 room.

Or: "if you're selling 100 square foot of tile, and you should factor in 5% waste, how much do you actually sell"? Now, they DO make the tests harder for managers, i've been told.

But a part timer's test should be so easy that people that don't even work there should be able to score at least 50-60% (you need 70% to "pass"). Also: If you were the owner of a business, and after 6 years someone proved to you that they did NOT learn anything about the job that they have working FOR YOU, would you really give them a raise???

Like anonymous said below you should know this stuff by now. And if you don't you shouldn't be getting a raise.

Problem is corrupt managers who give the answers to their friends who don't know the answers. But have no problem letting someone they dislike struggle and fail the test.

@SharkNasty

Great news I passed my test today with a 100% score.

The items on the test are based on the basic knowledge you should have in your department based on the length of time you have been in the department. There is nothing on the tests that you shouldn't have learned from basic training, in home training, talking to vendor reps, taking time to look at displays and packaging of the products you handle on a daily basis.

If you didn't pass the test you aren't trying very hard to gain the knowledge you need to answer the basic questions a customer might ask you. If you aren't working at gaining this knowledge you aren't ready for a raise.

Menards - Tub Purchase Review from Muskegon, Michigan

We purchased a tub at 3 rivers,mi. While loading my son saw a crack. The guy asked if he was sure it was cracked by them. They told him to go inside and return it. Ok the 2nd one we had to go behind the building to returns to pick up. After waiting 1/2hr. They brought out another which was also cracked. At this point the guy working said let's go inside as they didn't have anymore of this tub.he said he felt for all the trouble we should get a discount on the next higher one. When he asked about a discount the lady informed my son they couldn't give a discount as they had to make a profit. We also had checked on line for a pedestalsink which they said they had in stock and couldn't get that as they were out. When my son pointed out we had driven 25 mi to get there andwere disapointed they told us you couldn't go by that to call first.I have never been treated that bad. Thank you. Madmolly1947@all.com

Cute story, however you clearly don't work at Menards or you would have noted the 50cent raise the entire store is getting to compensate for increase of living expenses. And it's 10cents every 6 months unless you've been in a position longer than 5 years.

Bought a Remington string trimmer from Menards. From day one, it ran horribly. Go to the front desk and they tell you once you put gas in it, you have to bring it to a service center. (not local, mind you) Their sign reads that if you have issues the first eight days,...

What day exactly was day 1? Oh wait you didn't have a receipt to verify when and where you purchased it.

You get what you pay for. If you want top of the line you need to pay top of the line prices.

If you're going to spend less than 80 bucks on a gas trimmer you may as well buy an electric you will get way more bang for your buck. Not to mention you can return it as long as you have the receipt :).

I purchased the Ultradeck Natural last June, not because of the price but the color. By early September it had faded to an off white. Called Menards and was told that it fades (didn't know it originally) but would come back somewhat to a "natural" color. That's the...

Trimmer Review

Braught a new Yardman 17" trimmer (along with the rototiller attachment) followed instructions on putting it together, used there oil supplied with the unit to 1 gallon of gas. Ran a tank and a half through it and it quite. After 10 days of owning it they sent me to a repair facilities which told me there was no oil in the gas and it seized it up and needed a new motor. Now we are out $250.00. This is the trimmer that we can't use and a rototiller that we have nothing to attach it too. There comment was "we only sell them." That's real great customer service. Do not buy any power equipment from them they will not stand behind it. They even advertise a 30 day warranty with it.
