Where do you get the idea that Menards spends millions on financing race cars? Take a look at all the stickers on the cars.

Everyone that has a sticker has paid a lot of money to get it there. You can bet those sponsors pay most of the cost of supporting those cars.

Management at Menards is very poor. Most stores across the Midwest recruit college drop outs for these positions.When a problem occurs no one really knows how to handle or fix the situation.

I know at my store I can usually persuade the guest to see things my way by offering a 25% restocking fee. Now that you know how we are trained by the big shots in Wisconsin you would probably be better off steering clear of Menards and shopping at a more friendly home discount store like lowes, or Home Depot.

Our job is to make monthly quotas and if we don't more low informed managers lose their jobs. I have been lucky to maintain my job because my employees know I mean business.

We had a mail in rebate for $10 and we put it in our drawer and it sat there for three years doesn't have an expiration date when we went to use it at menard's and next thing you know they said it's already used. We put it in a drawer and it is never been taken out or used so I don't know what the problem is they told us that they would talk to the manager the next morning and never got a phone call from them I had to exchange something they screwed up on and went to ask them about the $10 rebate and they gave me another runaround about they have to email their office to find out what the problem is I don't live anywhere near or close to a Menard's so for me to go back-and-forth is a waste of time and money it's not worth $10

Waite park store is horrible.they have just screwed up ANOTHER of our special orders. Ridiculous lack of caring and attention to detail.go to pick it up and it's wrong. Only to be told,basically that it's close enough and they "suppose " they could reorder it. Beyond frustrating.the planning it takes,in advance,to order and get contractors in place to install tomorrow.miss,out on overtime at work to do this project, and now we can't because the order was screwed up. Again.the last time it happened, we were told what we got was what was ordered, but the salesman didn't explain it,properly. So we were denied any recourse because the manager said we got what we paid for. The manager on duty in Windows tonight, Amy, was unable to,resolve this,issue. Clearly this store is lacking in proper management, as one of the workers told my husband "welcome to ***. This is the worst menards" quite a testament to the type of business being run there.

Could it be you don't understand what you are ordering? When you order windows you stand next to the salesperson and go through a series of screens on a computer to build the window.

It draws a picture of the window as you build it. A complete description is printed on the order including type of window, material, color size etc. etc. They put it in black and white for you to review and be sure the salesperson understood your requests.

You need to take some of the blame if the window was ordered wrong.

Why didn't you review the order before paying for it? Sounds like you may have a problem communicating what you want if you have had multiple "wrong" orders.

Bought 9 outdoor lights at store in Rhinelander WI. Had excellent service. Young man went above and beyond to find 9 lights. Had to buy one more light in West Allis WI. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to come and get the light. Went to customer service, still no help. Had to order on line and pay extra 5.36 shipping and 2.80 processing fee. Will never go back to Menards in West Allis, WI.  Will shop at HOME DEPOT. Told customer service would not come back to store, no big deal to them. Need new help fast.

Were they just out of the light or could you just not find anybody to help you so you walked away.

There is always someone at the customer service desk, which is right next to the electrical department. had you gone there, I am sure one of the workers there would have radioed for an electircal team member to assist you.

I assume you got to the store, saw that the electrical team member was with a guest, waited three minutes, then got pissy and stormed off.

Unless you were buying a display, or a large amount of lights all of which couldn't fit into the alotted area, the lights are stocked in locations which you are easily able to get to. Do you have hands? Bam.

Done.

Also, you can elect for free shipping to the store of your choosing.

Sometimes stores are out of stock. That happens every where.

They offered to order one and ship it to your home rather than you having to spend time and gas to come back and get one when it came back into stock.

I don't think the $8.16 is a bad trade off considering the price of gas and that my time is worth something as well. If you don't agree, why did you place the order?

Menards in Saginaw, Michigan - Roofers there, No materials

Menards told make sure I had the roofers ready to accept shingles on the roof, so roofers are there to accept shingles between the promised time of 1-3pm. At 11:30 they and say they will be a couple of hours late, maybe closer to 5pm. then the call at 4:30 and say the truck broke down, they should have it fixed by Monday, but they'll give me my $75 delivery fee back. WOW! No shingles on roof only tar paper, the roofers were going to work all weekend because it is supposed to start raining on Monday! Talked to Store manager, nothing they can do. Wish I had gone to Home Depot!

Unfortunately there's not a lot that can be done when a delivery truck breaks down. You can't expect them to have a spare truck sitting around.

Sure you can, every reputable store has some kind of backup plan. Trucks breaking down is a constant and foreseeable event in delivery.

They may not have a spare truck there, but they should have a plan. For some delivery agencies that means a backup truck sitting around, for some it means an agreement to rent a vehicle quickly, etc.

You wouldn't expect your mail carrier to say "sorry I couldn't deliver your mail today, my shoe got *** in it and we have zero backup plan".

It's not a delivery agency....retail corporation...Google the term and read up. After that Google the cost of a forklift semi truck and multiply that by 2 for your little "back up" plan and now multiply that by 300 stores.

Menards would not be in business after that cost. However this is an unfortunate event and the fact of the matter is that it happened and the manager was doing everything possible to assist so I'd mark that as 5 stars in the customer service portion.

They have multiple trucks and move product from different locations constantly, on big Trucks! Menard called several stores and had what I needed very quickly.

24 hours transit time is pretty good. ***, US mail takes longer.

I have had the same issues there.A top of the fact not enough workers when questions arise.Love their products,but they need more and better trained people in customer relations.It's usually the younger employees that don't give a hoot.No respect.

There is no manager named Dan at the Morse Road store. If you did speak with a store manager and they didn't appease you, I am surprised.

I have found that they often are able to work out the toughest problems with the toughest guest...often guest whose problems were cause entirely by their own stupidity.

On August 9th I purchased I-Joists. I was told they would take 2 to 3 weeks. Then I received a call they would be there by Sept. 5th and I would be called to arrange delivery. The week of the 16th I called them and they said they would be delivered on the 22. On the 22 I called to see what time and they told me they couldn't find them. On the 23 I drove a 110 miles to the store, They couldn't find them. Next day they said they found them at the manufactures and they would be fast lined and I would have them by the end of the week. I didn't believe them but was nice. Finally they arrived on Monday evening. All this I could excuse as one of those things.. But then they said it would be Saturday, essentially another week before they had the trucks available. This I can't excuse. I guess I'll have to go to Lowes.
