No rebate

On 8/21/20 we purchase a storage shed from Menards on Allen Rd in Peoria. IL. We debate3d between Menards and Lowes and decided to go with Menards because of the 11% rebate. Our total tab with other items plus tax came to $280.69. I am very specific and a rebate regular. I put a mailing address sticker on the rebate as well as the receipt like I always do. This is the largest rebate we have ever sent in. Within 2 weeks our construction guy ( who uses Menards on a regular bases, went to Menards to purchase the supplies needed for the base to put the shed on. Again I sent that receipt in for the 11% rebate. That was also a large amount. We have not received the rebates from these two large receipt. The only reason we decided to purchase the shed from Menards was for the 11%Rebates. My receipt # is 56399 1* 4193 8/21/20 08:18PM 3248 We are looking at purchasing about 4000.00 in deck railing but would like to use some of these rebates for the purchase. My rebates have been taking about 3 months now. Perhaps if more people complained to their Attorney General about Menards advertising practices than posting on complaint sites something might get done.

In the meantime, shop at Home Depot. They also offer an 11% rebate in areas where Menards has stores and process them much faster.

Not filling my rebates or doing them wrong

On July 20, 20 I mailed 3 rebates 10.42 .46 7.15 I have not seen any of them yet. Mailed Aug 4, 20 3 rebates 10.45 5.50 1.65 I see the one for 1.65 is being issued and one for 10.28 (No idea where that one is from as it matches nothing I have) but nothing on the 5.50 one On Aug 12, 20 I mailed a rebate for 6.91 Nothing yet Early Sept 3.15 Nothing yet Sept 15, 20 Two Rebates one for 4.10 and 5.91 Nothing yet I have written 3 times to the Rebate Customer Service email and only received an answer back saying you need to wait 8 weeks as they are backlogged. That I understand and I did still nothing or it is not what I have sent in Is Menard's missing something here or is there another reason? I already will not shop Menard's for anything important because they either will not stand behind or discontinue major products so you cant get replacement parts.

Now that they have been running the 11% rebate for over 6 month straight they don't seem to be able to keep up and mine have been taking 3 months or more. Expect it to get worse until they get smart and give the 11% a break or just plain drop their price to what they should be.

Is this your first rebate from Menards? If so, you need to be aware that you shouldn't be looking for a check in an envelope.

They come as a folded postcard with advertising on the back. You won't realize it is a folded card if you don't look closely and possibly toss it out as junk mail.

Says I have to email rebate receipts, knowing that I mailed them. Will try emailing receipts, Menards has been low in the past, but this time I'm $35 short between 2 rebates. And I just came back from spending $68 there and find 3 rebates in the mail. No response from Menards AT ALL and rebates are NOT getting done in MONTHS!!

I understand that I need to wait 6-8 weeks for the 11% rebates to be processed, but this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I have rebates from July and August (it is now October) that are not even showing up as in the system. I get tired of having to submit these two and three times before anyone will even respond.

The new top priority at Menards is to bully, harass and mask shame. The employees follow you around the store to check.

Menard's true colors are not hidden anymore. They dont like thier customers.

Complaint and how I was treated in a store

Was told I had to make a special order purchase online. I messed it up and received wrong color of siding.

Asked to refund said I have to pay a restock fee. But if I wasn't told that I have to do it online there wouldn't have been an issue. Employee would have done it right. Then when I told Grant the building material manager.

He said he didn't believe my story. I asked him if he's calling me a list. He said I never said the word liar. Then I said r u referring to me as a liar.

He came back with CORRECT. Asked for store manager he came and didn't believe me and said I have to pay fee for something that should have been filled out by the employee in building dept.

The manager had me so pissed I said shove the receipt up his *** He told me to leave. Do now I have the wrong color siding and was referred to as a liar from menards managers.

Preferred solution: Menards should have waived a restocking fee. Seeing how I wanted to order in store but was told to do it online. And then they should have allowed me to order gray siding with no additional price cost

Well you are a liar actually. And youโ€™re trying to justify the mistake you made and blame it all on th m because YOU are incompetent.

How is your incompetence the fault of the retailer? You claim the employee would have ordered it correctly. But you were told from the beginning to order it online, so the employee wasnโ€™t on the situation at all. You screwed up and expect that they are going to buy your load of bull.

Maybe next time do better. Maybe next time you shouldnโ€™t try and pull a fast one on a employee. You screwed up not them. You showed your rear when you werenโ€™t given your way.

All of this just points to you being a very bad person. You accept zero responsibility when you were 100% at fault. You tried to BS a return and treated the employee as if they were a simpleton. At what point do you grow up any and act like the adult you supposedly are.

They no longer do orders the way you want and you will lie up o e side and twist reality so it fits your narrative. So yes you ARE a liar AND scammer to boot. Grow up and accept that you screwed yourself by your own incompetence. Not their fault you canโ€™t figure out what youโ€™re buying online.

Tried to order at there building desk but was told to order at home online. If I was allowed to order right at store the mistake wouldn't have happened seeing how they would have been the ones putting the order in and they do this as a job.

YOU ordered the wrong color siding, so why is it Menards fault? If you return any special orders there is a restocking fee no matter why you are returning it!
