Damaged furnace filter in transit.

I just received my furnace filter order and even though the box was marked fragile, do not break, handle with care it was smashed in the upper left front of the carton. This went through to the filter itself causing damage to the filter and filter housing. Please advise me as to what steps to take next. Pictures included.

Looks like shipping damage. Have you contacted fedex to file a claim?

Or el cheapo packing job by Menards staff. Fed ex nor ups will pay a shipping claim for poorly packaged items, especially ones that are literally paper thin but have no padding.

I asked and they said because of the rebate going on since March, and there are 300 plus stores that its currently a 12 week leadtime from time you mail them in. I too am still waiting on my rebate from June

It takes 12 weeks to receive the 11% in store credit voucher, but when you purchase items the retailer receives the funds from your credit card literally within seconds??????

Damages

our vehicle was located in your parking lot when the derecho went through in the town of Cedar Rapids, iowa early August 2020. A lamp from one of the lot lights fell and hit the hood of our car and then lodged under the left front bumper. Was still storming and did not notice it right away. When backing up, we heard the noise of something dragging under the car. Husband got out and found the lamp under the left front bumper. Have called several times to the local Menards store but no answer from the messages that have been left. We are now two months down the road and we still have not heard from you. To keep the front bumper from dragging on the ground, we have it tied up with the zip ties. Cant we please get this taken care of as it is getting colder and the snow and slush will diffinately be a problem. I would think that your customers are very important to you and as I have been taught, first priority are the customers. Bad reviews are not what a company needs, especially at this time. Please will be waiting to hear from you very very soon. Phone number 563 794 ****.

Rebate check

I have not received my rebate checks from 8/2020 - I have sent a few emails and I still have received the rebate checks. I spent over $3,000 on cabinets remodeling my kitchen.

Why are you complaining at this point? The rebate form says to allow 6-8 weeks and you haven't hit 8 weeks yet. In reality you are going to have to wait longer than that as they are so backlogged due to running the 11% rebate on everything without a break for over 6 months now.

Rebate Delays

I have used the Menard's Rebate program without complaint since I lived in WI 10 years ago, never had a problem receiving the rebate check. In the last 4 months, the return process has slowed considerably.

I've wondered variously if my checks were being stolen en route, if part of the problem could be due to Covid irregularities, or now the postal slowdown. I have several outstanding checks nearing 8 weeks. Til now, I've never waited more than 45 days, and usually less. Seeing all the complaints (and class action law suit now) online makes me wonder it other things are going on.

I shop at Menard's almost exclusively because of the rebate, although they do have some interesting offbeat products. If my experience begins to falter at Menard's, there's always Home Depot, Lowe's &;;;;;; Ace.

Veterans stay away from Menards. Menards rebates are all BS.

I sent 2 rebates in within the last year and have not received a dime of my so called 11%.

Veterans should go to Lowes or Home Depot. You get an instant 10% with you Veterans ID

My rebates are taking 2-3 months now. You can bet that the problem is that they are running the 11% rebate non stop now.

They have to have truckloads of mail to open and enter by hand. Keep in mind that Home Depot matches their 11% rebate.

They make it very quick and easy to file your claim on-line and keep you informed as your claim progresses. Menards would be wise to do the same thing and cut out all the mail and manual entry on their end, or better yet just drop prices 11% since they have been running the 11% nonstop for months.

Hello I am very upset that I have been a customer of Menards in Michigan City, IN and Valparaiso , IN for many years an have spent lots of money with your stores . The way my husband an I were treated yesterday in your Michigan City store was beyond expectation . We were first bombarded not even 20 feet inside the door of we had to wear a mask NO matter what to shop . Neither one of us can due to health issues but needed to purchase over $500 worth of merchandise so we were told to go to register 12 an get one to put on , we did as were walking to get one we are again approached an asked where our mask were an he escorted us to the check out to buy one before we could shop . Totally against our rights as US citizens !!!! We make our purchase an was so flustered by nonsense that we left behind a $7.99 pack of screws . Bought 40 Railroad ties an the screws total $522.00 . I call when we get home to which we are an hr. from the store an they tell me bring in my receipt an they will watch the cameras to see what happened ... Whatever happened to the customer is always right . If I spent $522.00 I would not be trying to get a pack of screws at $7.99 for nothing . This just not the way you treat someone an I would appreciate someone contacting me.

The customer is not always right. Why should they just give you a product you claim you left at the register?

You may have taken it and left it in a cart in the parking lot and someone else got it. It may have fallen out of your vehicle or may be tucked behind something and you just don't see it. Why do you object to their looking at the tapes to see if you left it or not?

As far as masks are concerned everyone need to wear them if the policy is to be effective in protecting other customers and employees from the virus and they are well within their rights in requesting that you do. Stay home if you health is so poor that you feel you can't wear a mask for a few minutes while you are shopping in a store.

Customer service behavior

After the project is over. I had 13 items to return but its really hard to track which receipts belong of every items. So what I did, I just gave all 30 receipts. The person in the front named, CELIA at Menards, Mount Prospect complaining that next time I have to find each receipt for particular items. I would understand if theres so many people in the line but being just alone in the counter, theres no reason she will be complaining. To scan all together 30 receipts doesnt take 3 mins but still doesnt want to work. This person shouldnt be in the front because of poor customer service, lazy and inconsiderate.

Exactly why should you expect an employee on company time be expected to preform the job they were hired to do??? Expecting a returns clerk to process the return of new merchandise with receipts???? That's like expecting someone in plumbing department to know which garbage disposals they sell can be hard wired.

Got my rebate from Menards today. Ha Ha, A rebate is not store credit! A rebate is cash back in my hand. I feel like I've been duped and will use the store credit, then never shop there again. 11 weeks to receive a store credit is a joke. Any other home improvement store can have my business and I'll get a nice veterans discount. Menards is a joke!!

Then quit stating staying "11% off everything" in huge print on their printed ads and website, as well as shouting "save 11% on everything" on their tv and radio commercials. 11% off means paying 89% of the listed price, not paying 100% price at the register then mail in a form to possibly 5 months later get 11% in store credit.

Just received the rebates I mailed in Mid August. They didn't show up in their tracker until just before they were mailed. Have to believe that with a rebate for every transaction since March they must have truckloads of mail waiting to be processed.

Was late on a payment, Got caught up in my own business and simply overlooked it. They canceled my card, ruined my credit score and refuse any future credit. I , BTW did pay it off, Only owed a little over 300.00.

You didn't have a credit account with Menards. Your account was with an independent credit company.

With the amount of people losing their jobs during covid credit companies are much quicker to close accounts due to late payments to protect themselves from additional losses.

What would you do if your Visa card was canceled? Would you refuse to shop at stores that accepted Visa cards because your account was closed?

Problems with your liability insurance company (Gallager Bassett)

On 09/03/2020 I was at your Evendale Ohio store when one of the forklift drivers backed into my vehicle. He sent for his supervisor and admitted backing into me. A claim was filed that day. Everyone one at the store did a great job of handling this. However, Gallagher Bassett has dropped the ball. I was unable to speak to the adjuster for the first two weeks after the claim was filed because he does not answer the phone and did not return any of my calls until after I spoke to his supervisor. I have been a loyal customer ever since you entered the Cincinnati market, However I feel that a company that works for and represents you would not have one of YOUR customers jump through hoops and even after a month of waiting still does not know what the status of the claim is. Please contact me to discuss.

User's recommendation: Beware of shopping at Menards, If your vehicle gets damaged in any way in the lumber yard Menards will not honor your claim. My vehicle was struck by one thier fork lifts and was stuck with the costs of repair.

If you want to hear from menards insuance company you need to rent of of their pick up trucks and have the staff falsey accuse you of causing preexisting scratches or rust on the vehicle. Their known to go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb upon returning looking for any claim they can come up with regardless of how minor or preexisting. They probably would file an insurance claim for you passing gas while sitting in the drivers seat of their rental truck.
