Well it's true Menards is not suppose to hold items for anyone. This policy was put into writing back in 2010/2011.

It's first come first serve. The reason this policy was put into place was because people would have items put on hold then not show up for these items costing Menards sales and taking up unwanted space in unwanted areas. Easily 1 out of 3 people would never show up for their held items, another 1 out of 3 would just go and grab the item off the shelf. Do you know what that means?

Items are constantly being put on hold for someone who is never going to pick up that item and possibly losing the store money. I have a solution to your trivial complaint! It involves using the internet, you clearly know how to do that because you found this website right? All you needed to do was go to the Menards website select the correct store where the shirts were at and purchase them guaranteeing you the item!

This is the ultimate compromise, both you and Menards WINS! I have another sensible solution, but I'm not sure your intellect would have ever considered this. Menards is not the only place that sells Illinois TShirts!

Again you could have easily used the internet and found a shirt that works for you! /GASP!

Menards in Litchfield, Ohio - 11percent rebate

I feel someone takes people's rebate money.I bought my grandson Polar express train.I shipped to Texas.I was supposed to get a $75 rebate check back.I Never seen it. I called and was told they had no way to know what happened to it.I just did another rebate of maybe $30,have also not seen it. With it coming as a postcard, anyone can take it.Your 11percent rebate makes me come into your store.I am retired and have a fixed income. But felt with a rebate I would shop. Its so sad that you can't do something different.Maybe show proof you are who you say you are.I feel I'm not the only one this has happened to.

It's your mailman, google it! This has happen before. It even caused Menards to put a policy to check ID before the use of a large rebates because of all the thefts from mailmen.

Menards in Racine, Wisconsin - Rebate

1.0
Details
All I want to ask is why the mail in rebate is a norm at Menard stores? This rebate is so *** to have unless a person purchases a large item. Most customers buy 1 or 2 items that cost around 10 dollars which means they get a whole dollar eleven cents when all is said and done.Let's see,a stamp today is 53 cents and envelopes cost money and so does a persons time,so after you take the time out of your day to mail it in you end up with 58 cents to go back to Menards and spend that, how ***! Until they stop that 11% rebate I will take my business to Home Depot!!

I agree I will not shop there with their *** rebate program, where what you get is not a rebate but a store credit. just take the 11% off at time of purchase. going to home depot from now on

@Dan

It is a rebate actually, just because you don't know what "rebate" means doesn't change that fact. It is not a cash rebate, nor does it advertise as such.

1. My store's average sale per guest is over $75.

2. The rebate program brings people back into the store. 3. I think you place too much value on your time...

Mailing my rebates takes me a total of 5 minutes out of a month. It's your choice to mail it or not, so your complaint is worthless.

Menards - Staff Review from Rochester, Minnesota

I was today at menars south rochester mn, and I paid my products by the garden door. I decided to go back inside the store and Iexit to the front door., so was close to my car,. And I saw a lady coming and her face was like disgusting, she asking for my receipt, and I told her why, she saidbecause no one checked my receipt by the door and she so mean. I have been so many times to this store and never I had see someone to check receipts, She make me felt like a robber I think that is why they have alarm if someone stilling, and I felt so frustraded because she was sure i not paid.

Next time enjoy the fresh air and exit the doors by the registers you check out at rather than walking back through the store. Why wouldn't they want to check your receipts if your are walking past the registers without stopping? If you owned a store I bet you'd do the same thing.

If an item is marked at a price and the sku matches the store must honor that, that is a law. You can look into that yourself.

I once was shopping for a coat and was able to purchase a Clayborne wool coat for $180 under cost because it was improperly priced. I didn't complain. I went to purchase it fit the $89 that I though it was going to cost, when the cashier rang it up it rang up for nearly $300, which I didn't have. I told that wasn't what it was listed on the rack.

It wasn't any problem though. She called the department they checked and saw that it was priced incorrectly and I received my nice $300 wool coat for $89. That was J.C. Penny

This guy has every right to be pissed.

He should have received the item for the price it was marked as long as the sku matched the product. It is federal law that if a product is advetised at a set price the purchaser has the legal right the buy the product the the price listed. Just like gasoline. If you pull into a gas station and pay for gas the tenant cannot change the price of the gas.

Even from the tube you pulled in because that is a advetised price. Advertisement is a legal agreement.

This policy is listed on your receipt and near the gas powered equipment. The comprehension of this policy is not very difficult to understand.

It's to protect Menards and Manufactures from incompetent people who often damage their equipment. Say you sold a tiller next thing you know they wanted to return it because it was no longer working, however, the reason it wasn't working was because they incorrectly used the tiller, what would you do? Would you be like oh yeah sure no problem here is your money back! I will gladly take that tiller back and lose money on it because I can no longer sell it at as new because it has BEEN USED....

Yeah you could be telling the truth, but I can assure you most people don't. They try and take advantage of retail stores left and right. If Menards doesn't look out for Menards who is going to?

The consumer? Highly unlikely, all consumers care about is themselves.

Menards in Springfield, Illinois - Spent reoughly 5,000 dollars

spent over 3,400 today at menards am getting rebate 11%. spent over 2,000 in april and wanted to get 11% I was told it had to have been within a certain time frame for price adjustment. I did not know so I am missing out on rebate for the other moneys. Don't think I will continue to shop menards will go to lowes instead. Disappointed I know if they wanted to they could give me the 11% discount. I do like their workers they are very helpful and pleasant. They do a better job than lowes so if this could be worked out I would be thankful. Sincerely Theresa Meadows

Dear Theresa Meadows, This is not a MENARDS WEBSITE. It's a public forum.

Your argument is even worst. It's not cohesive and lacks detail to what the problem really is.

Matter of fact the part where you talk good about Menards comes across much more clear. So why you would choose to shop at Lowes at all over Menards makes even more apparent how low your IQ really is.

Menards in Springfield, Illinois - Failed Return Policy

I purchased a tiller from Menards in Springfield Illinois. I used it for less then an hour when it died so I packed it all back in the original packaging and took it back to the store where I was informed that gas items cannot be returned. They have to go through a local repair shop contracted by Menards. No problem. Get it fixed and and I am back in the gardening game. Until the local shop tells me that they are backed up for a minimum of 3 weeks before they can even look at it. After that it would take time to order parts or do the paperwork to replace the unit. 5 weeks from now what use will I have for a tiller when planting season is long past. The only thing any live person I can get access to just says that there is nothing more they can do to help. Hundreds of dollars spent for an hour of use. What a waste of money and of a store.

There's a difference between a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke. Common issue with things that run for an hour then die because it wasn't lubricated properly. Good luck!

Have you ever had problems with a car you bought? They fixed it, not replaced it or gave you a refund because that is what the warranty on a car calls for.

Guess what.

The manufacturer warranty on your tiller also calls for repair, not replacement. As a consumer, you should educate yourself as to what warranties and return policies are before you buy a product.

I hate to say it, but having worked for a company that had a lawn and garden equipment repair shop, that this is the absolute worst time of year to get a repair done. Think about it, everyone is trying to get their equipment fixed.

And the repair shop is doing warranty work for the manufacturer.

They don't care if the product was bought at Menard's or anywhere else. A line is a line, even for a Big Mac.
